Colour photograph of tram 33 terminating at the north end of Gardens Loop, Wendouree Parade, the first service tram to do so on Sat. 15 March 2003. The service was terminated at this point for some 6 weeks while Wendouree Parade was resurfaced and other track work done. Shows the temporary terminal arrangements, and the earth cable installed to protect the work site on the section insulator and earth stake alongside the pole. Tram 33 has the Eureka roofing tiles and SEC Briquettes roof advertisements and Twin Lakes sign on the drivers dash panel. The destination shown is Gardens via Sturt St. West. Tram fitted with a Suttons Pianos and Players roof ad board. Has an "Enter Front End" sign on the rear of the tram. Yields information about No. 25 (one of the best side on photographs of this tram) and the fitting or trial of roof advertisements that was a prominent feature of SEC trams from the late 1950's onwards. Noted in an actual photograph, only one roof advertisement fitted.Black and white print of a photograph of No. 25 in the SEC Ballarat depot yard fitted with two blank advertising boards on the roof. Understood prepared to give details to prospective advertisers or to show management how arrangements could be made. Advised by Ron Scholten on 2/12/2013, that "Alan Davis (Vic) Advertising" was the SEC's advertising agent and it has long been defunct. Photo taken late 1950's. One of a few good photographs of No. 25 prior to going to Bendigo in October 1960. See Reg Item 2312 for a photograph of this tram with one roof advertisement c1960. Postcard, Valentine & Sons Publishing Co, "City Hall and Shoppers Square Ballarat", 1905
Printed colour postcard titled "City Hall and Shoppers Square Ballarat". Has an inbound tram showing the Grenville St sign on the rear, and one of the crossbench cars loading passengers outside the Town Hall. Shows Snows building, people in the median strip - busy holiday or a Sunday. Images of the front and back of the card and a close-up of the two trams in the bottom left-hand corner. Note the lamp or coloured destination sign on the roof of the inbound tram. On the rear, the postcard has been divided into two with the words "Post Card" and "Printed in Great Britain" on the top, a "Valentine Series" on the side. Addressed to Miss J Johnstone, 30 Weighbridge St, Flemington, and with the words "Dear Jeannie, / How do you like this one. / Maggie".
