Belonged to Kathleen Marjorie Dunn (nee McKenzie)Day dress in fine silky fabric. It has a blue, white and green floral pattern on a navy ground. The skirt is gathered to the waist in two places in front and has two darts at the back. The sleeves are short, set in, gathered at the shoulder and end in inverted V shapes. The bodice is shaped with two sets of gathers in front and two darts at the back. The square neck dips to a shallow point in front, fastens with six self-covered shanks behind and is edged with cream net frill (probably discoloured white). Clothing - 1949 Wedding dress handmade and worn by Marjorie Schneider, 2 March 1949
This wedding dress was made & worn by Marjorie Gertrude Schneider, elder daughter of Mr & Mrs A. A. Schneider, of Lorquon, married Harold Francis Rohde, youngest son of Mr & Mrs J. B. Rohde, of Gerang, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Woorak, March 2nd, 1949.The dress was handmade by the bride, Marjorie Schneider.A charming frock of ivory cloque, inset with a yoke of beige lace with scalloped edges, cut on very flattering lines. The bodice, fitting perfectly to the waist and the back having a row of buttons, was ornamented as the shoulder with a diamante clip which had adorned her mother's wedding gown. The full skirt was draped softly from the waist, & extended into a long train at the back. The halo of orange blossom, which held the veil in place, set off to perfection the exquisite bride. Paper advertising the book launch of 'Marching Through Three Centuries with the City of Bendigo Brass Band (1862 - 2001). Book launch took place on Saturday, 2nd November 2002 at the Campbell Theatrette, Bendigo. Mentioned is a short history of the City of Bendigo Brass Band, About the Author - Bob McCaskill, a photo of the band in the 1800's and a photo of the band at the 2002 Nationals in Geelong (Victoria). Label and seal, June 1929
A cardboard label with attached wire, including a small metal circular piece with "LONDON" stamped into it. The label contains black and red text as well as stamped numbers. The front of the label has the Henley trade mark, "Henley C.M.A. Regd Cable", and description of the cable (length 100 yards, size, 600 megohm Grade Classification G), with the obverse describing the manufacturer details and branches. The label is in poor condition, and has been ripped in various places, with some text sections faded/erased. A ripped portion of the label reads, in red, "Please see that this label and seal are intact". The date of manufacture is stamped on the label: JUN 1929. -

Uniform - Jacket, Battle Dress, Australian Government Clothing Factory, 1981
Issued as a uniform item post WWII until the late 1980s. It was also used parade dress until its replacement of a newly designed uniform made of polyester. This particular sample belonged to CPL K. Howe 3144504 whist in the Army Reserves 1982 to 2005The khaki battledress was standard uniform issued post world war two and used until the introduction of the polyester uniform in the late 1980s. This uniform belonged to CPL K. Howe, the donor providing good provenance. In conjunction with other items of militaria donated by the Howe family. Item can be to tell a story of multi generations of military service of the Howe familySingle breasted hip-height jacket in khaki fabric, fastened with five buttons down the centre of the chest. Two pleated breast pockets with triangular flaps fastened with two buttons. All buttons plastic and khaki green in colour. Jacket is fastened around the hips with a belt, attached on left hand side and buckled in a rectangular metal buckle on right hand side. Both left and right sleeves bear two patches, a double chevron and red rectangular patch rounded to follow the seam of the shoulder, with embroidered text. Navy lanyard looped around right shoulder, held in place by epaulet and tucked into right side pocket. Red patch reads "ROYAL AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERS" Internal left chest label reads "A.G.C.F./VIC. 1981/[broad arrow symbol]/6405.66.025.6408/SIZE OF CHEST/SIZE 99-102R/MACQUARIE 80/BATCH J/DRY CLEAN ONLY/CREASE UPPER/HALF OF/LAPELS ONLY/No. 3144504 [handwritten]/NAME/CPL K. Administrative record - Wodonga Police Register of Duties 1855-1857
The Wodonga Police register dated to 1855-1857 provides a record of the names of police officers and details of their day-to-day duties, including crimes committed and steps taken to trace and apprehend perpetrators. It has several references to Robert O'Hara Burke, who was a soldier, police officer in Victoria, and well-known explorer in the ill-fated Burke and Wills expedition.The Wodonga police register has local significance due to the detailed information and date in the 1850s, which was before Wodonga became a separate Shire from Yackandandah Shire. It is also significant on a state and national level as an example of early police records. The detailed information provides significant research and interpretive potential. Green leather and faded green and brown marbled paper bound register or diary, recording the day-to-day duties of the Wodonga Police in 1855-1857. Pale blue watermarked paper with faint lines in the interior. Every second page has been removed and there is staining on some of the pages.The entries are written in iron gall ink and are deteriorated/faded in places. Red-brown and green marbled paper on the interior front and back covers, with linen binding. There are three small red wax seals on the inside front cover used to secure an introductory page of writing. The paper around the seals is torn and the page has become detached. The villages are along the Somme River. The nearest towns of note are Mont St Quentin and Perrone. Photo 2. Four graves, left to right. 1. Lance Corporal George Grimshaw, No 887 38th Batt, KIA 28/8/1918 aged 24 years. He embarked with C Coy on the Runic and the embarkation rolls state that he was a farm labourer from Gasquil East Victoria. His final resting place is the Hem Farm Military cemetery, Hem Monacu. 2. Corporal Vincent Thomas Stanley Wyniat, No 709, 38th Batt, KIA 28/8/1918 aged 28 years. h embarked with D Coy on the Runic and the embarkation rolls state that he was a labourer of Edenhope, Vic. His final resting place is also Hem Farm. 3. Two graves left to right. Private W McEwan, No 7067, 38th Batt, KIA 31/8/1918 aged 36 years. He was actually William Lowrie Allison from NSW enlisting under the name McEwan. His final resting place is the Perrone Communal Cemetery Extension. he is buried there under the name "Allison". Private Norman John Warren Hoffmeyer, No 2339, 38th Batt, KIA 31/8/1918 aged 23 years. He embarked with the 4th reinforcements to the 38th per HMAT A17 Port Lincoln on 20/10/1916. The embarkation rolls state that he was a farmer from Bendigo, Victoria. His final resting place is also Perrone. 4. Single grave. Private Cyril Edmund Andrew Dunn, No 3058, 38th Batt, KIA 31/8/1918 aged 22 years. He embarked with the 7th reinforcements to the 38th Batt per the HMAT A70 Ballarat on 19/2/1917. the embarkation rolls state that he was a Bank Clerk of East St Kilda. His final resting place is Hem Farm Military Cemetery, Hem Monacu. From other negatives we have identified some 15 graves. All these soldiers were KIA over the period 26 - 31 August 1918. This is a souvenir vase produced for the tourist trade in Warrnambool. The vase was made by Victoria China in Czechoslovakia and the image of the Warrnambool War Memorial has been added for sale in Warrnambool. Similar items with suitable illustrations would have been produced for the tourist industry for other towns and places in Australia. Tourism has been an important industry in Warrnambool since the late 19th century. This vase is of interest as an example of the souvenirs available to tourists in Warrnambool in the 1930s. It is both a decorative and a useful item. This is a white china vase with an elliptical-shaped body and a circular neck with a wider opening at the top. There is a faint brown-gold colouring on the neck of the vase and this colouring is stronger on the under-side of the top opening, There is a colour illustration of the War Memorial at Warrnambool on the side of the vase. The business connected to this ledger, dated from 1904 to 1907, is unknown. There are some local Warrnambool and district names but most refer to other places in Victoria and interstate. The entries mostly deal with the sale of produce - onions, potatoes, barley, oats etc. and the names of ships are usually appended . One can guess that the ledger comes from a Steamship Company, a produce buyer or a cartage contractor.This ledger is of minor interest and is retained for research purposes.This is a ledger of 755 pages. The cover is charcoal-coloured hard board with brown leather on the spine and the edges of the cover. The spine has a red label with gold-coloured lettering.
