Set of four colour slides, white cardboard, by Kodak, of trams 912 and 1018 in the City area testing clearances around safety zones, as part of the development of the Z class tram. Done on a Sunday morning. .1 - 912 in Flinders St with Flinders St station, platform 1 west in the background - slide dated May 1973. .2 - tram 1018, without the tram protrusion on the top of the car body as in 912 at Victoria Parade and Brunswick St. Tram 644, City Brunswick St, in the background. In the back is Eastern Hill Fire Station. .3 - as above. Has advertising for Amoco Petrol and White Horse Whiskey .4 - 1018 in Brunswick St returning to Preston Workshops. Has St Patrick's Cathedral. Yields information about the style and printing of tickets used in Ballarat and Bendigo tramways and how they were presented.Block with 22 remaining tickets - red ink on off white paper, denomination 2d, over stamped in black "City Section" numbered C873578 - 99, headed State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Provincial Tramways. Originally a block of 100 tickets been stapled onto an off white cardboard back, ruled on one side with a heavy metal staple and a off white coloured cardboard retaining strip at the top of the ticket. The ticket price is in red ink while the ticket number itself and prefix is in black ink. On rear in red ink is a diagonal criss cross or tartan pattern. See also Reg Item 3990 for another 2d City Section ticket - block of 200 tickets and smaller font for the price. See Alan Bradley's notes "Fares in Ballarat" On the inside of the cardboard back are notes using two of the columns using the ruling on the ticket and notes. Report looks the development that could be undertaken along the proposed Glen Waverley rail line, its town planning, Garden City type layouts, rail level crossings, new arterial roads, open spaces, financial arrangements, sewerage and water supply, zoning, legislation and conclusion. Dated 6/5/1927. Plans show possible garden city type layouts, arterial roads, possibilities within existing sub-divisions. The Sir Macfarlane Burnet Library at Grey Street Primary School, Traralgon, was dedicated in 2001. Mac and his sisters Doris and Annie attended Traralgon State School, then located in Campbell Street. The donor received the projector from a relative. He used it in the City of Whitehorse and surrounding areasWaterworth Slide Film Strip Projector, Model A - 300 watt, without a fan but with ventilating slots on top and an open bottom for air to flow. It has a carrying handle and a power lead with 3 pin plug which is wired in permanently. The projector lamp is at rear under the carrying handle. Image is projected through three stage lens via via the image on the 35mm strip or slide. The front lens is adjustable for focus. A knurled nut enables a height adjustment at front. Slides are inserted through the holder - whilst one slide is shown the other can be loaded ready to be slid in front of the light. The film strip holder is missing. The unit is finished in a grey hammer finish paint used in 1960 t0 1980s. The operating instructions are filed in the supplementary envelope.
