The Hamilton RVIB Auxiliary formed on December 5th, 1929. This collection of papers includes the minute books from 1929 until 2000, including newspaper clippings from local and state papers, correpondence, financial reports, invitations and RVIB pamphlets and circulars. In October 1969, RVIB asked Auxiliaries to promote the television appearance of Robert Leeman, a blind harmonica player. In response to the Hamilton Auxiliary's congratulatory note, both Robert and his mother replied to the Auxiliary and as well as these letters, an article from the TV Times was also kept. Congratulations cards for Mabel White's 40 and 50 years of service can also be found in the minute books. The Warburton RVIB Auxiliary formed on December 6, 1930. This small collection contains index cards which were maintained by RVIB and contain the amount of donations made by the Auxiliary between 1976 - 1995 as well as the presentations delivered by RVIB employees to Auxiliary meetings between 1978 - 1985. Correspondence to and from RVIB head office ranging between 1990 - 2004. A questionnaire conducted by RVIB Head Office in 1999 showed that the Warburton Auxiliary had 15 female members between the ages of 70 - 80 years old. Alfred Deakin was one of the founding fathers of Federation and was Prime Minister of Australia over the periods 1903-1904, 1905-1908 and 1909-1910. He was the federal member for Ballaarat from 1901-1913 and was attorney general in the Barton government. He also served in the State of Victoria parliament. In his second term, Deakin's government passed the Census and Statistics Act 1905, Papua Act 1905, Representation Act 1905 and Copyright Act 1905. Newspaper article from 1990 'RVIB honour'; The Gisborne and Woodend auxiliaries of the RVIB have been invited to the unveiling of two plaques made in honour of the late Miss Betty Ross Watt and the late Mrs Caroline Mary Goldie at RVIB in St. Kilda Road. These ladies were foundation members of the Gisborne and Woodend auxiliaries respectively, and they worked hard and inspired others for over 50 years. As a result of their generous bequest to the institute, four sound-proofed recording studios have been completed. Other funds donated by the two women have been used for the extensions of the RVIB talking book library building and additions to library facilities.
