The certificate commemorates the official opening of the Shrine of Compassion, which houses the large statue of Kwan Yin, carved from marble in Vietnam. The statue was especially chosen by Ven. Thich Phuoc Tan and sponsored by Quang Minh temple. The Shrine of Compassion is located in the Great Stupa's Peace Park. Kwan Yin (also known as Quan Yin or Guanyin) is revered as the Goddess of Mercy in Chinese Buddhist tradition.
