Bennetts, ironmongery. On the left is a woman in a long winter coat shopping. There are three people walking through the Arcade. The roof is very ornate & the top is clear so it is well lit with the light coming through. Black and White print of Bendigo SECV Bendigo tram 18 and four other trams (two bogies and two Birneys) at Eaglehawk tram terminus on a tour. Tram has dash canopy lights, but no large white strip under the drivers windows. Photo not dated but appears to be during early 1960's. Tram 18 has destination of "Railway Station", also has a white disk indicating a tram in a convoy. Certificate, John Phillips, BTPS Driver's Certificate, mid 1980's
BTPS Tram Drivers Certificate printed on fawn stippled paper with brown ink printing and BTPS Tram loco on left BTM corner. Stamped No. 1 and dated as issued to Driver Gavin Young on 22/12/74. Signed by R.Gilbert Traffic Manager. These certificates were printed in the mid 1980's and backdated to when the driver's passed their exams. On the reverse side there is no printing and it is a white sheet of paper. Note: Used for driver's certificates until the BTPS was renamed to the BTM, then a new type issued. Yields information about one of the first two maximum traction bogie trams in Ballarat in October 1945 after it had been repainted for use in Ballarat by the SEC and a little photographed single truck tram No. 24. Also has pedestrians in view.Black and White photograph, No. 15 and 24 at the city stop, corner of Lydiard and Sturt Sts, with the Town Hall in the background. Tram has a roof advert for Bendigo Timber Co. Masonite and a Cohn's Drink ad on the front of the tram. In the background are roof advert for Mobilgas on the Beehive Building, Ezywalkin building, A. G. Treloar Optician and Evlyn Amer? shop for Infants Girls and Ladies Wear. There is a large number of Holden motor cars in the photos along with bicycles parked by the Ezywalkin shop. Yields information about the planning options that were used for formulate garden routes timetables at various service levels.Single rolled graph sheet which has two sets of runs drawn on it, showing the Gardens via Convent and Ripon St routes from Grenville showing how the tram service would operate and where the trams crossed each other. One graph set shows a 6 car, 7.5 min service and the other a four 10 minute service. Gives the miles and minutes. Would have been used to prepare rosters and timetables. Metal based match box holder, formed from tin plated steel sheet, folded around all edges to include a printed plastic cover marked "Souvenir of Wattle Park, Melbourne Vic.", including on the sides an image of the Chalet and on reverse, contact phone number (WX1322), and what the venue would cater for. Has a note that is was open on Sundays and Holidays as well. Not known when made or used or who by. Phone numbers with alphanumeric numbers phased out during the late 1950's. Drawing - red ink drawn on a print showing an extension to the single track, Maribyrnong tram line to run further into the Explosives Factory. Original print from the Commonwealth of Australia, Dept of Munitions, Factory Board drawing number W-1163 titled "Explosives - Munitions Supply Laboratories Proof at Rest - Maribyrnong" and dated April 1933. Marked in red ink is a "Explosive Factory Cordite Ave - Proposed Tramway Extension shown red". Not dated, possibly early 1940's. Sign, Selex Decal, "Please Step Inside", 1970's
MMTB decal - "Please step inside" for the use on the exterior of tramcars, glued transfer adhered to a sheet of gloss paper on one side and plain on the other with the transfer instructions made by Selex Decal in the 1970's, with alignment marks on the rear. Has the Selex Decal logos on the rear and the number "098051751" along the bottom edge. Refer to MMTB Drawing R10-138 for a drawing. Three copies held, two wax paper separate sheets, cardboard protective strip. Photo during the early to mid 1940's. Tram has an Auxiliary board "Via Dandenong Rd" and showing, Route 67. At the time, Route 67 ran from St Kilda ran from Balaclava Junction to St Kilda, Acland St via Dandenong Road. Ceased in 1955. See Reg item 815 for details.
