Greythorn Caravans factory / showroom / yard was established c1953 at 731 Whitehorse Road. During the second World War, in December 1941 at a meeting of the Box Hill City Council, Mr R H L Sparks, the Mayor at the time, presented a detailed report regarding the possibility of establishing a community hospital.
