Held 26/10/1921, with Mr Dix, Chief Manager in the chair. Parties involved were: Mr. Barnes (MMTB), Mr Abfalter (Union), Mr Hilton (witness), Mr Banks (witness), Miss Relph. The enquiry was into Conductor Bennett in relation to handling lost property - a purse lost by Miss Relph. S Dix. 6 - note - possibly arising from a meeting, undated, about the northern suburbs. 7 - Handwritten note dated 23/6/1920 about a person (cant make out name) knocked down in Flinders St at Spencer St - received two pounds compensation 8 - Receipt for a subscription to Science and industry journal for 12 issues, 1920 - from the Commonwealth Institute of Science and Industry. 9 - Docket or receipt for purchases during 1919 and 1920 from McEwans of Elizabeth St Melbourne.trams, tramways, mmtb, chairman, accidents -

Photograph of the opening of the Fitzroy Northcote & Preston Tram on April 1, 1920, by the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board who had taken over the Trust on 2/2/1920. Shows tram No. 4 being used as one of the opening trams at the Preston depot in Miller St. In the background is St Georges Road. The Trust conducted a trial run using tram No. 1 one week before the Trust was taken over by the MMTB. Reference identifies Miss Alice Membrey cutting the ribbon from the driver’s cab of FNPTT No 4 – opening day at Miller Street, 1 April 1920. Alice Membrey was the daughter of Mr George Membrey, MMTB Board Member.
