Large 75cm tall plastic doll with curly blonde hair. Her eyes close when she is laid on her back. She is dressed in a cream muslin dress with vertical inserts of white braid. It is also trimmed with wide cream cotton lace on the bodice and hem and burgundy insert on the bodice. A burgundy sash is around her waist. Underneath the dress is a cream cotton pintucked petticoat trimmed with various cream laces and cream cotton bloomers trimmed with cotton lace and white satin bows. She is wearing black socks and brown canvas shoes with plastic soles. WW1 AIF Light Horse Saddle (Martin Balsarini's, a Chiltern Resident). The Great War 1914-1918.This saddle belonged to Martin Balsarini, a soldier in the AIF WW1 4th Light Horse Brigade and who was at the Charge Of Beersheba. Dark Rum coloured leather saddle issued to WW1 soldier Martin Balsarini 4th Light Horse AIF. Saddle has cast iron stirrups x 2 with brass adjustment buckles. There is a restored leather rations barrel attached to the rear of the saddle. The saddle underlay is made of canvas and felt. Steel framed folding babies basket. The frame painted cream has four swivelled small roller wheels attached. The basket frame can be removed by unscrewing four round knobs and the frame can be folded flat. The basket has a canvas base and sides woven with cotton cord. The basket is fitted with a pink liner with broad lace edges. Ther are two pockets sown onto the inside of the liner. The liner is in poor condition.The Universal Folding Basket. This gear bag was issued to Sergent Harold Loraine Reed, who was born in 14 Aug 1889 in Portland, Victoria. Reed enlisted in the army in 1940 in Ballarat to serve in WWI, and was discharged from 8 Battalion in 1943. Gear bags such as this were standard issue to servicemen. Soldiers would fill their gear bags with essential equipment (mess tins, clothes, etc.) and carry them with them from post to post, or ship them to their destination ahead of time.Khaki coloured canvas bag that is cylindrical in shape with the owner's rank, name, and service number written on the front of the bag in white paint. The base of the bag is rounded, while the top is open with 11 eyelets (one missing) through which a cotton cord has been threaded. Each end of the cord has been wrapped with red tape.V58131 / S/Sgt. This rocket equipment has been used in various lifeboat and rocket stations on Victorian Coast. It is unclear if this is the original rocket equipment from Port Campbell. This equipment, if not original to the site, has been used in rescue operations and is identical to the equipment that was in use at Port Campbell from C.1890 onwardsTwo canvas lifejackets, one is filled with cotton or silk and the other with cork. The jackets are sewn in sections that hold either the cork or the cotton/silk. One of the lifejackets has a separate strap and brass eyelets and buckles. -

Andrew John BALSILLIE MBE, JP. Jack as he was known enlisted in the Australian Army near the end of WWII No 31224 age 16 years. He then served in Malaya 1959 - 1961then Vietnam with the rank of Captain with 1st Aust Task Force HQ Light Aid Detachment (LAD) 7.5.1969 - 7.11.1969, HQ Aust Force Vietnam Army component 8.11.1969 - 7.5.1970. He retired with the rank of Major in 1985 after 40 years plus. He was awarded an MBE in 1969 for his services to the Australian War Memorial. Elected to Committee Bendigo RSL 1988 - 1993 with Snr Vice President 1989 - 1993, re-elected 1999 - 2000. Re-elected again in 2002 as Snr Vice President.
