"BALLARAT, Fri: Two days before Christmas Mr F. C. Clarke, of Victoria st, received from his son, Sapper F. Clarke, a message conveying Christmas and New Year greetings, and the assurance "all well." Mr Clarke has now been officially advised that his son died of wounds in New Guinea on December 24." Sandringham and Ellindale (now McKinnon Football Club) played off for the district premiership on the Friendly Societies Ground, Melbourne on 26 September 1908. Ellindale won the game but had to wait to see if they won a protest against Dandenong before they could claim that they had won the premiership. In the local paper, the Brighton Southern Cross on Saturday 10 October 190, it was reported that Ellindale were the premiers of the season. This medal was awarded to W. This is a souvenir program made for the musical event, Hiawatha, presented by Orbost Rotary Club on November 28,29 1949. Miss Elsie Lambert was a teacher at Orbost State School for 25 year.This is representative of the entertainment popular in Orbost in the 1940's-1950's.Two small 12 pp cream coloured books with brown print and the head of an American Indian chief in head-dress on the cover. This building was constructed by James Elijah Crook in 1865 as a residence for Doctor Bone. Between 1874 and 1890 it was in use as a Post Office. From around the 1920s F.C Pearce sold motor cars from this site for a number of years. The site is now occupied by the Bacchus Marsh Newsagency and Stationers located at 138 Main Street.Small sepia unframed photograph on card with gold border framing photograph. Alison Watson was the daughter of Peg and Harry Watson of Cromie Street Murtoa and would have been seven years old when this certificate was granted at the Murtoa Swimming Baths. The Baths were adjacent to Lake Marma and filled with water from the lake. There was a wooden pontoon in the centre of the pool which was removed for swimming competitions. Alison's father was the swimming coach at the time - 1956.A rectangular light blue/green certificate with navy blue writing with letters highlighted with white accents. Ticket is one of a run of tickets from 1880 to 2012 (complete except for 1915 and 1916 when the club withdrew from competition and 1899 and 1900 which are missing from the set).Rectangular card covered in black leather with fold in middle and small punched hole lined with metal intop right corner. Card has gold embossed border and two diagonal lines running top left to bottom right filled with red with 'ESSENDON' in capital letters. Date '1891' embossed in gold in top right and 'F.C'. embossed in gold on bottom left. Some wear on right hand edge. Reverse of card is the same as the front. The Ruyton Reporter (formerly known as Ruyton Reports) captures the essential Ruyton Girls' School experience for the broader school community. It has been produced since 1986.The record has strong historic significance as it pertains to one of the oldest girls' school in Victoria, Australia. Ruyton was founded in 1878 in the Bulleen Road, Kew, home of newly widowed Mrs Charlotte Anderson (now High Street South).
