In 2005 Michele Matthews interviewed current and former residents of Bendigo for her thesis on the 1930s Depression as part of her PhD Research, with the University of Melbourne Faculty of Arts, History Department. Michele interviewed fifteen members of prominent Bendigonian families. The thesis was titled: "How Depressing?: The impact of the Great Depression on Bendigo and District 1925-1935". The Michele Matthews Collection contains fourteen audio cassette tape recordings and one written transcript. The tapes are each approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes duration. The questions presented to the interviewees explore everyday experiences they would have lived through at the time of the Depression. ABC Radio show 'Hindsight" which looks at the historical, and not so historical, limitations that were placed on blind and vision impaired people through the twentieth century. Through interviews with various people who lost or were born with limited or no sight as well as historian Judith Buckrich, the changes over the last 150 years about the politics of the blind and the thinking around it are reflected upon. From the first institute for the blind set up in Victoria in 1866, there have been restrictions on conditions, access of service, working life, education, travel, voting rights, attitudes on using white canes or dog guides, pensions, workers rights, and socialising between blind men and women. Marjorie West interviews Keith Glover, a broadcaster with 3LO, ABC, Radio Australia and RPH. He speaks of his early life in Sydney and his passion for radio, slightly delayed with his father insisting that he obtain a tertiary education beforehand. War interrupted this plan, and he joined the Army and became a 2 man act with Happy Hammond, as part of the Entertainment Unit which was part of the platoon. After service in PNG, he returned home to a contract with the ABC in Queensland later joined by his wife Gwyneth. In 1955, the family moved to Melbourne and he was chosen to be one the announcers for the Melbourne Olympic Games. A small stint as a newsreader for the ABC, a compere for the ABC dance band on Songs that Sold a Million, a televised version of a Glee club, Kindergarten of the Year radio show with Ann Dryer, the popular Mailbag program which generated hundreds of letters each week, and talking magazine narrator are among the many and varied jobs he did during his career.
