"Willis Vale, Greensborough, situated on the north bank of the Plenty River at the end of Church Street. The home wasa built about 1840 by Jame Willis Mayger from bricks hand-made nearby. Robert Partington died shortly after the family arrived in Australia in 1857. Parents Charles Partington and Ellen (nee Whatmough) settled in Greensborough. Robert is buried with his Whatmough cousins in the Pioneer Children's Cemetery, Greensborough. A photo was taken of Robert on 31/1/1857, the day before he died. [Robert PARTINGTON b. Perhaps he caught a chill after getting off the boat from England the day before). In 1997, Bell's Cottage at Happy Hollow Farm was included in the Nillumbik Heritage Overlay HO59.The cottage was built by Robert Whatmough and associated with the pioneering orchardists Frederick and Theodore Flintoff and William Verner. It is technically significant for its wattle and daub construction, vertical slabs and bark roof.
