Has signs for the "Mail Echo", Plume petrol, ANA, the Mechanics Institute, and Longhurs Bread. On the rear Wal Jack has written extensive notes for Ken Magor noting the streets in the view and the Ballarat East loco depot and Goods shed. Was the leading mine in the field in the years 1883-4 and 1885 during which time it produced 65,898 oz of gold and paid $(?)399,800 in dividends. This mine was then situated on what in January, 1902, became the West Shaft. The Company was then amalgamated with the 'Princess Alexandra' (approx 100 yds further east) which then became the Main Shaft of the 'United Devonshire'. Wal notes the tram was scrapped in 1955. Second cutting notes a derailment of a tram at the junction of Main Road and Victoria St. Noted the delays occurring.
