Rodaughan, 26 Old Lilydale Road, Ringwood East in response to requests for information associated with Lilydale Railway Line history.The line from Hawthorn to Camberwell opened on 3 April, 1882, Camberwell to Lilydale opened on 1 December, 1882. Box Hill, Ringwood and Croydon stations opened on 1 December, 1882. Croydon was originally called Warrandyte station until the name was changed to Croydon on 1 August, 1884. Nunawading was originally called Tunstall and opened on 4 June, 1888. The name was changed to Nunawading on 1 November, 1945.

Tait collection: item 34 of 62 This is a document giving the details of the Letters of Administration following the death of Helen Robertson, a spinster from St. Kilda, Melbourne. She died intestate in November 1881 and left property to the value of £363. This property reverted to her sister Agnes Thomson in 1889. No other details have been found on Helen Robertson. The lawyer in the case was George Skinner of Melbourne but the document was one of several stored in legal premises in Kepler Street, Warrnambool and passed on to successive lawyers occupying these premises. It was located in the same building, the former premises of the legal firm, Mackay Taylor, in 2014 and handed over to the Warrnambool and District Historical Society.This document is of minor interest as one located in former legal premises in Warrnambool but no other connection has been found between Warrnambool and the person whose details are in the document, Helen RobertsonThis is a cream-coloured piece of parchment paper folded at the bottom edge and containing hand written material on both sides of the paper. The contents give details of the Letters of Administration following the death of Helen Robertson in 1881. A seal of the Supreme Court of Victoria is attached with green ribbon. This small cream can was made by the Sydney firm of Malleys Ltd from the 1930s until the 1950s and came in various sizes. Malleys Ltd was established in about 1890 by Francis Malley (1863-1932). This firm was located in the Sydney suburb of Alexandria, in McEvoy Street. They manufactured items for use in the dairy industry, as well as for hardware related to building and plumbing. Many of the Malley dairy products were sold under the "Sunrise" name. Malley retired in 1912. In 1931 there were branches at Parramatta, Hurstville & North Sydney. This cream can was designed for domestic home use and was used to fetch cream from a dairy or retailer of dairy products between 1920 to 1950s. M Luscombe Diamond Creek on the nameplate suggests this is the farm dairy that supplied the cream the can would hold and that they were the owners of the can. This dairy no longer exists as the area is now a housing estate.Cream can, round metal container with fitted lid and carrying handle. Can has a short wide neck. Body has embossed letters and an attached metal nameplate that has been soldered. Made by Malleys. Embossed raised letters "MALLEYS". Archie Harker married Ruby Baker whose sister Thelma married Stanley Wieland and they are mentioned in the book "Wieland's of Heathmomt". Both Cashmore brothers embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Palermo on 7th May 1915, and returned to Australia in mid-1919. Nine letters by Jack and two by Arthur were sent from Gallipoli, Egypt and Palestine. A letter by Jack from Palestine on 26th October 1917 tells of an upcoming action that "may be pretty big", and a later letter (March 1918) tells of men known to him who were lost at Beersheba.Eleven WW1 letters by Jack and Arch Cashmore (4th Light Horse Regiment, 5th Reinforcement).
