Yields information about a PMTT tramcar that was sold to Ballarat and an operating member of the BTM fleet.Digital Image of Prahran and Malvern Tramway Trust, Maximum Traction tramcar No. 63 in Glenferrie Road, with destination of Esplanade and Route No. 4 in the window of the tram. In 1940 The Surrey Hills Church of Christ team played in A Grade of the Eastern Suburbs Protestant Churches Football Association. Other clubs competing that season were: Spring Road Methodist, Glendearg Grove Methodist, Burwood Protestant, St.Marys Church of England, Balwyn United, Box Hill Adelphian and Box Hill United. Alan Sneddon played in the team. The inauguration of the Association took place at a meeting held at Camberwell Methodist School Office on the 19 March 1923. The following churches were represented at this meeting: Auburn Presbyterian, Kew Presbyterian, Hawthorn Presbyterian, Camberwell Methodist, Canterbury Methodist and St Marks Church of England, Burke Road and Holy Trinity Church of England, Surrey Hills. From 1923 to 1992 there were at least 160 clubs / teams that competed through the various grades with many of these combining & /or changing names, as well as those that competed irregularly. Ross Milne grew up on his family's tobacco property in Myrtleford, Victoria and started skiing at Falls Creek when he was 13. He went on to win the North-Eastern District Ski Association (NEDSA) Junior Championships for three years in a row. In 1961 Ross was a member of the Australian team which competed against New Zealand in the Inter-Dominion Championships. In 1963, he won the Downhill and Alpine Combined title at the Australian Championships, while placing second in the Grand Slalom event. Ross Milne was selected in the Australian team that participated in the 1964 Olympic Winter Games at Innsbruck, Austria. A few days before the opening of the Games, on 25 January 1964, he tragically lost his life when he crashed into a tree during a training run for the Men's Downhill. He was only 19 years of age. This item is significant because it shows the Olympic Team at Falls Creek and features Ross Milne who died tragically in a training run in Innsbruck, Austria shortly after this photo was taken.A mounted black and white photograph of the Australian Olympic team standing in front of the Falls Creek Ski School sign as well as an article "Ski Champion at 18" from Australian Women's Weekly Wed 9 Oct 1963. The ticket details that it is supplied by the ELICTRICITY SUPPLY DEPARTMENT of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria for use on Provincial Tramways. It gives the conditions and terms of use, stating that it is for passengers under the age of 18. Anthony Truscott ( 1856-1913) was a Cornishman who came to Bendigo in 1880. He initially undertook mining interests before opening a grocery store in 1884. The house at 2 Havilah STreet, "Kilhallen", was probably named after his hometown in Cornwall.Real Estate advertisement for a home built by Anthony Truscott in 1900 called Kilhallen.
