This book was written by Vivienne Worthington, a relative of the family of Albert Withers, the founder of Pioneer Coach Tours. From the hire of his first vehicle in 1905 Albert Withers always used the name 'Pioneer', until he ultimately established Pioneer Tourist Coaches, which became 'the largest of its kind in the Commonwealth' and in many respects unique. It began with motoring in Victoria and eventually covered the whole of Australia.This book is a useful reference tool.A paperback book of 136 pp. The cover is dark blue with the title, " Pioneer Tours" in yellow print at the top and "oldest name in the coach industry / Vivienne R Worthington" in white print beneath it. In the centre is an outline of a fawn coloured map of Australia with a black drawing of a family in a touring car. - probably from 1930s. At the top in red print is "PIONEER" and below the drawing in brown print is "TOURS" At the bottom of the page is "NO MOUNTAIN TOO HIGH NO ROAD TOO FAR" in white print inside a pale blue rectangle with rounded ends. Miss Olive Codling was a Foundation Member and a Life Member of the Wodonga Historical Society. Many of her prize-winning photos are held in the Society Collection. She also held a range of roles and committee positions in a wide range of Wodonga community organisations. These included the Horticultural Society, the Wodonga Arts Council, the Wodonga Camera Club and the Wodonga Lapidary Club. This photo collection is significant as it documents how the businesses and buildings in Wodonga have evolved and contributed to community throughout the 20th century.J. Mann and Sons was first established as a farm produce store in 1921. The range of products was extended in the 1930s and included groceries and hardware, as well as the first petrol bowser in Wodonga outside the store. After WWII, the premises were extended and the range of products continued to increase. In the 1960s the Mann Family opened a new supermarket in Wodonga, in addition to the hardware business, providing steel, plumbing and industrial supplies, and employed over 100 people. This site has since been redeveloped and is now the Mann Centre. This book contained newspaper clippings with a number of flyers and other advertising material inserted inside the front cover. This material covers events and functions held at and by the Mission during the period 1906 - late 1930s.This scrapbook outlines the many events, concerts, important visits and social occasions held at and by the Mission. It includes the names and activities of many prominent Melburnians and shows the vivacity of the work at the Mission. The 1930s was a significant period for the Mission during the Depression years, a new Chaplain, Rev'd Frank Oliver was appointed who would serve as senior chaplain for the next 30 years. Old swimming pool in the Plenty River in Greensborough, built of concrete in the 1930s, it was a popular spot for the locals. These types of folding postcards, showing scenes and buildings in Australian towns, were mass produced for tourists in the 1930s, 40s and 50s and later. Many similar cards of Warrnambool views have survived today. These commercial photographs are of minor interest as there are many other copies available. They show what tourists were buying 60 or 70 years ago and give us some idea of what Warrnambool streets and tourist spots looked like at that time. This is a series of 15 black and white postcards of views of Warrnambool folded into a packet originally designed to be sent by mail but the cover is missing. The photographs have a white background. The garage was established in the 1930s by Mr Gamble. Other proprietors were Perc Kimberley 1943-46, Henderson 1946, Neil Rogers. K. & B. There small lean-to on the LH side of the building. There is a large entrance and two large windows on the front. There are two petrol pumps at the front of the building. A blue car and a white utility are parked at the LH side of the garage. The signage on the front of the building reads K. & B. PATTON NISSAN and there is a NISSAN sign painted on the roof. There is a sign for Peter Stuyvesant cigarettes on the roof of the lean-to. This type of cup was designed for use by an adult and was in common usage from the early 1900s to the 1930s. Feeding cups were used both in the home and in hospitals, and were also often made of white enamel. Mary Howlett (1840-1922) began practising as a country midwife in 1866 in the western district of Victoria. She qualified as a 'ladies monthly nurse' in 1887 and continued to practise as a nurse and midwife until 1920. She began her six months training at the Melbourne Lying-In Hospital. She was known by many as 'Auntie', and her career spanned more than 50 years. Mrs Howlett's midwifery box and contents were given to Dr Frank Forster, and he donated them the museum collection in 1993. Feeding cup made out of white china, now discoloured. The cup has a curved spout (similar to a teapot spout) with a handle. There are four small holes inserted inside the cup diagonally at the proximate end of the spout. midwifery

Fire at the building on 22 August 1981. The building was constructed in 1912 as a block of flats, designed and built by JRDaley, and it was renovated in the 1930s. Land along the Yarra River in Kew is now either designated open space, parkland or public golf links. By the 1930s much of this area remained open farmland, bought at auction for dairy farming in the 1840s.Original, black and white positive print of what is said to be the Yarra Flats near Burke Road Bridge. On the horizon, building can be seen, whereas in the middle ground, farm fencing and a windmill are the main features as well as remnant Eucalypts. This small metal plane was manufactured in 1909 by Spiers-Stewart, Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland. Stewart Spiers began making planes in Ayr in around 1840. The business continued successfully as a small operation until the mid-1930s.This plane is an example of tools made overseas and used in the 1900's. Box plane; hand operated small metal plane with round wooden knob. Plane has separate blade and blade cap. Inscription on blade cap is indecipherable. This type of forceps was invented by Italian surgeon Paolo Assalini (1759-1840). Obstetrical forceps gripped a baby’s head during difficult childbirths. Although undated, this plan is probably from the late 1940s or early 1950s. Around this time Port Melbourne Council were looking to built a basketball court in Lagoon reserve, and shelters and a senior citizen's clubhouse in Edwards Park. PMHPS does to believe the basketball court shown in the plan was built but the Port Melbourne Senior Citizens and Trugo Club is at the location shown on the plan. A shelter is in a similar location to the one on the plan. A children's playground existed in that location shown in a photograph from the 1930s.
