Bridesmaid's dress worn at Margaret Rose Vyner and Ian McKendrick's wedding on 11th January 1958The McKendrick family came to Mt Beauty very early in the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme (KHES) days. Their son, Ian, worked in the Mt Beauty Post Office for 40+years. Vyner family also long time employees of the SECV on the KHES. They were residents of Mt Beauty. Margaret was a nurse at the Tawonga District Hospital at the Tawonga site . White sleeveless dress with a taffeta underskirt with 2 tulle gored over skirts. This item of military uniform was worn by Squadron Leader (SQNLDR) Bernard Farley during his period of Full Time service in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) between 27 January 1976 and 02 March 1997. Bernard joined the RAAF as an Airmen was trained and employed as a Clerk Supply (CLKSPL) between 1996 - 1977. He undertook officer cadet training at the Army Officer Cadet School in 1978 and was commissioned into the Ground Defence Category on the 09 December 1978, where he served for 18 years and rose to the rank of SQNLDR. Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) trousers- Blue Grey. This uniform was in the period 1966 - 2001 as the primary daily uniform in the office environment. Polyester working dress is approved for wear employed in office or business type environments. The trousers have a belted waist and zip front, with two slant side pockets, money fob pocket below the waist on right side and two rear slit pockets. Most likely made in China.Aldo Gios recorded the location of where most of the pieces in this collection were found. Some maps drawn by Aldo Gios also give more detail. This detail is rare, as most pieces of broken crockery were discarded and complete items were usually collected with no thought to recording the location they came from. Part of one of the largest collections of Chinese ware found in the Upper Ovens area and the only one recording the location where found.Earthenware bowl in a terracotta colour. Part of an opium pipe used by the Chinese.
