Used as pattern to cast crown wheel of drive on water wheel. Actual drive has since been sold, only mold remainsCircular wooden pattern, raised centre circular area surrounded by four wide, flat spokes at regular intervals (the interim spaces being cut out with rounded corners) which are in turn surrounded by a rim which tapers back from the centre of the piece and has fixed to it regularly interleaved slats. Slats of protruding oblongs tapered from attachment to top and also central end to outer point. Light coloured wood 1 & 2 are Broken off pieces of back.

The Headland Estate housing development began in the early 1980s. It was situated west of Sunbury and was bounded by Elizabeth Drive, Reservoir Road, Phillip Drive and Stewart's Lane.A coloured landscape photograph with rounded corners of a view of Sunbury overlooking the Headland Estate before its development. Pumps were used to move water from one place to another. This one was connected by a belt to an engine that would drive it. Electricity is used to drive pumps nowadays.This pump was used in the original Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme.Blue steel and brass water pump bolted onto a wooden base. The stand of the pump is rectangular at one end and round at the other. The rectangular end has a hollow brass cylinder extending up. Inside the brass cylinder is a steel piece with a wide brass cylinder attached at right angles at the top. This is attached at the top to a blue steel 'T' at which the other end has a blue (on the inside) wheel with four curved spokes. When the wheel is turned the steel piece inside the cylinder moves from side to side. On either side of the cylinder, at its base are outlets with screw on fittings. Embossed "Simplex" along the stem of the 'T' and "Model / D" on the opposite side.piston water pump; simplex

Used by Ted Beddiscomb of Gormandale near Traralgon, brother in law of donor. Ted was a dairy farmer and used the motor for about 10 years to pump water. It is possible it was on his farm for some years prior to this.
