The Andrews/ALP government was returned in a landslide victory. The footage in this recording comes from a party held at Ballarat Trades Hall on the night of the election. Candidates for Wendouree and Buninyong, Ms Addison and Ms Settle, were successful. This is the last episode of 'The Flying Dogtor'. The Dogtor found himself falling through the icy water, and there was nothing he could do to stop himself. But suddenly, he was shooting upwards and burst through the top of the well. A real sea serpent came to the Dogtor's rescue. The bell from the final tram, Tram No. 34, to run on Lydiard Street North in 1971. Demonstrates a conductors communication or signal bell made for use on tramcars. A reminder of the network of trams that existed in Ballarat. Brass Conductor Communication Bell consisting of cast frame, bell pull part, one nut to secure the bell to the frame and two rivets securing for the bell pull part. It highlighted traffic congestion, the distribution of recreational open space and haphazard intermingling of land uses. The plan identified a number of problems, such as the congestion at St Kilda Junction, that were not addressed until decades later.
