Octagonal varnished wood font with a fitted lid. The lid has a large brass knob on the top secured by three screws and the front a small brass plate on one side. Each of the other seven sides have carved two carved leaves. The font is on one single turned wood leg which sits on an octagonal base. The inside of the font contains a copper bowl. There is a support for the bowl which must be a later handmade addition to the font as it is made of plywood. This President's chair was presented to the Victorian and Tasmanian Conference in 1932 by Mr Fred J Cato. Dark hardwood ornately carved high backed chair with two arm rests. The chair includes two worn leather cushions on the bottom and the back. There is a small metal plaque at the back with the manufacture's details.

Mary Hannah William Thomas married John Thomas at Sebastopol Congregation Church. John Brown (1722-1787) was a Scottish weaver who became a Presbyterian minister. Although self-educated, he prepared an annotated Bible, Bible dictionary and concordance, and a metrical version of the Psalms. His self-interpreting Bible appeared first in 1778 in Edinburgh and was reprinted many times.
