The child in the photograph is Delia Murray (Mrs Jack Kenny). She was one of eight children of Herbert Cecil Murray and Evelyn Murray. Photographs of children families sitting in hollowed out pumpkins were common in the first half of the 20th century. This item is associated with a popular activity of the Orbost community in the first half of the 20th century. The Tower Hill Cemetery is located near Koroit on the north side of the Princes Highway The, between Port Fairy and Warrnambool. The first burial at Tower Hill Cemetery took place in 1856. Over 150 years there has been over 8,000 burials. Around 45 percent of the burials are in unmarked graves.
