'Test Cricket' was one of the most popular board games in the pre television era. John Sands Pty Ltd, the publisher, was an Australian bookseller and stationer founded in 1837 and produced board games from 1929-78.Board game consisting of a rectangular cardboard piece illustrated with a cricket ground, players and a scoreboard. Two semi-circles have been cut away from the background and are used to control the progress of the game. The right hand game control is moved to 'ball' position (1-8) and back to start which indicates the type of delivery shown in the window. The left hand control is moved to 'type of delivery bowled' and back to the start which reveals the number of runs scored or method of dismissal which is shown in the window. The scoreboard is operated by three circular wheels that show the result of runs and wickets. An oval handle is at the upper centre. Video of Rex Mathieson and Ron Cashmore's story about the Schomberg and their experiences diving on the wreck. the video was shown at the Peterborough Hall in January 2017, with live commentary by the divers, and accompanied by artefacts lent to the History Group by Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum.The Schomberg wrecked close to the town of Peterborough and this video is narrated by Rex Mathieson and Ron Cashmore who dived on the wreck over a period of years prior to the Historic Shipwrecks Act 1976. They collected artefacts and took underwater photographs at that time. The Ballarat Camp housed the Goldfields administrators. It was from this site that the troopers left on the morning of 3 December 1854 to attack the Eureka Stockade. In c.1960, when the photograph was taken on which the postcard is based, both buildings were still owned by the Victorian Government and were a functioning police station and court house. In 1900, ownership of the post office had been transferred to the new Commonwealth Government. In the first decade of the twenty-first century, the police station and court house were offered for sale. They were subsequently purchased and renovated by the City of Boroondara. Denis Gibbons (1937 – 2011) Trained with the Australian Army, before travelling to Vietnam in January 1966, Denis stayed with the 1st Australian Task Force in Nui Dat working as a photographer. For almost five years Gibbons toured with nine Australian infantry battalions, posting compelling war images from within many combat zones before being flown out in late November 1970 after sustaining injuries. The images held within the National Vietnam Veterans Museum make up the Gibbons Collection. Likely to be a German designed operating chair. Very similar to operating chair shown in [Aesculap] Aktiengesellschaft fur Feinmechanik vormals Jetter & Sheerer, "Illustriertes Musterbuch", 1904, Tuttlingen, South Germany, p. 720, no. 34, 412 Fig 1 & 2. Early twentieth century examination chair constructed of metal and leather. The structure is metal and painted with cream enamel. The seat and seat extension are covered in brown leather. It has two folding sections with metal leg rests, and a base on castors. There are three holes in each arm rest, possibly indicating missing attachments. The marble shown in this photograph was collected by Mr Leo Brady from the Bank Street site of the Public Baths that were built there in the late 1800’s. These were sea baths and the water was pumped across from the South West Passage via a windmill.This is was all that remained of the public sea baths.
