Gives details of the working of the service, quotes the Yarra Tram CEO, Dennis Cliche. Has the Yarra Trams logo on the bottom left hand corner. Black and white print of ESCo 17, photographed at the depot entry with a driver, conductor, and another employee in uniform standing alongside. Has a destination sign of Sturt St on the front dash panel of the tram, showing the seating arrangements, uniforms, and step arrangements. Has extensive notes written in ink by Wal Jack on the rear, giving details of the tram, driver, and conductor, colour scheme. Dated 30-5-1906. Gives names of J Quirk, Fritz A Thies. The photograph, Real Photo Series M 324, shows Geelong No. 2, built by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide in 1911 in its as-built configuration in Ryrie St with the former Geelong Post Office in the view. Next door to the Post Office is the Telegraph Station. Dated on the basis of a poster next to the Telegraph station advertising a 1920 film by Irene Castle. The full name of the film cannot be read, but starts with "The..." This tram is part of the collection at the Ballarat Tramway Museum. Melbourne’s next-generation trams, G-class, have been designed to be easily repaired with improved visibility for drivers. A prototype has been completed and will be tested by a range of groups before testing on the network in 2025. Department of Transport and Planning’s head of rolling stock development, Ben Phyland, said this redesign was a response to the number of crashes in Melbourne and after consultation with tram drivers. In 2022, there were 960 collisions involving trams and cars, including 166 considered serious – an average of three crashes each day and a 60 per cent increase on 2021.
