These consisted of the Association for the Blind symbol of a square (filled with horizontal lines crossed by two diagonal lines), in gold and a circle in the middle against a contrasting background. Item is part of the BCOF Association collection. Refer Cat No 7625This is a large photo album. The front and rear covers are made from wood. The basic colour is dark brown. On the front cover is painted a picture of Mt. Fuji, a Japanese village, a bridge and a small building on land, a tree and an archway. Colours are white, gold, red and mauve. It also has a very fine layer of reflective material - possible pearl shell. Inside are a large quantity of Aust soldiers in Japan - postwar. There are tourist type photos as well. These metal badges consist of silver writing (Association for the Advancement of the Blind) around the outside and the word 'Representative' between two lines in the middle, against a dark blue enamel background. It is the only identification badge held in the collection for the AAFB, which became the Association For the Blind in 1960. The minutes of the Melbourne Legacy Wives Association from 1968 to 1978. The wives of legatees established the Legacy Wives' Association to help support their husbands' work. They often helped the widows' prepare costumes for the children' annual demonstrations. They also held golf tournaments and events that helped fundraise. The meeting in 1968 mentions the president of the Legacy Wives Association was Norma Cooper, who was the wife of the President of Melbourne Legacy in 1968. President J E Cooper also attended and spoke at the meeting.A record of the business practices for formal meetings in the 1970s and that Legatees' wives provided a valuable support to Legacy.Red cloth covered minute book with lined pages. The minutes contain present, apologies, minutes of last meeting, correspondence, financial, general business. The Australian Association of Teachers of the Blind (AATB) noted in the minutes on 17/1/1958 that the Council on behalf of the Association invite the New Zealand teachers of the blind to join AATB. The New Zealand teachers had accepted to join AATB and the name of the organisation had been updated to The Australian and New Zealand Association of Teachers of the Blind (ANZATB). The membership comprised of Honorary Life Members, Professional Members, Associate Members and Affiliate Members.
