May have been given to The Australian Estates Company in the 1970's when sold to CSR or Elders.Bronze framed certificate coat of arms with smaller frame below explaining coat of arms.The shield shows the Southern Cross (being the Arms of Victoria) but on a white background to indicate wool and to avoid being identical with the Victoria Arms (which have a blue background). The inner shield shows the conventional way of indicating estates with green and gold squares. The sword is the sword of St Paul, indicating the London activities of the company. The Shorthorn Bull and Merino Ram explain themselves, as does the sugar cane. The helmet and decoration above are conventional, green and gold being chosen to indicate land and the wealth derived therefrom.

Made by CSIRO Division of Wool Technology in conjunction with an Australian engineering company REPCO and the International Wool Secretariat. Made by the Returned Soldiers & Sailors Mill in Geelong, post-1924. Rug was given to NWM from another museum in Western AustraliaTartan rug with cream base, featuring pattern with blue, black, green, yellow and red believed to be the Dress Stewart tartan pattern. RS&S label stitched on back of one corner. Label has stitched signature of John Monash. Two of the ends are tasseled. Appears used with several stains and small holes. Metal sign (one of two- the other is missing) that previously hung on one side of the main entrance door at Dalgety Wool Store on Gheringhap St (now Deakin University waterfront campus). Sign was polished daily by Percy Johnson, a janitor at the building in the 1960's. Donor worked at the building as a clerk between 1958 - 1982. Sign was found by a metal collector by the side of the road c.2018. Metal sign with pressed text. Possibly brass. May have originally been gold colour but now a dull brown. Between the 1920’s and 1950’s the YWCA, Blue Triangle and local committee of representatives organised an Inter House Athletics Day for Girls in Geelong and Melbourne. Local Geelong business, such as the surrounding woollen mills, business firms and church clubs would form teams of seven women to compete in a variety of sports such as bowls, basketball, hockey, cricket and soccer. Events such as these were organised to encourage women to participate in competitive sports and network with other women in the workforce.Photograph depicts the R.S.S. Mr Mears father Horace Mear bought the rug c1933. He was ex British Navy and had migrated to Australia in 1920. Card clothing sample manufactured by Samuel Law and Sons, Cleckheaton and probably sent to the Collins Bros Mill at the same time as W621. Card clothing is defined as 'the leather or other stiff material which holds the wire staples, the points of which project outwardly and form the carding teeth which operated on the fibres.' This fits into a carding machine ("The Textile Industries" vol. 8 - William S. Murphy, 1911).Card clothing sample, comprising rows of bent wires mounted on a thick rectangular leather base.
