(a) Silver-coated intricately patterned cake slide. Carvings on a floral theme are done in relief. Edges are irregular. The handle end features a female form reminiscent of a ship's figure head. The word "Italy" is engraved on the back of the slide in very tiny writing.

This tube is designed for left pneumonectomy (surgical removal of a lung or part of a lung). The left stem bronchus may be completely blocked off, while the right lung is inflated. There is provision for aspiration of the left bronchus.Rubber tubing with curved and tapered end for insertion into lung. Three smaller tubes come off the larger end, two of which have small rubber valves attached. A keepsake badge which relates to the tumultuous period of the English royal family with the death of George V when his son Edward V111 abdicated from the throne due to his involvement with divorcee Wallis Simpson.
