One handwritten and one typed copy of an article in the Bendigo Advertiser dated Wednesday February 3, 1897. The article referred to an overwinding incident at the Victoria Quartz Mine. It was a new winding plant. A lever would not move and with the motion of the engine, which he could not check, the cage was rapidly taken to the popper heads. It was held there by the safety catches and the cable detached.and damaged portion of the rails at the top of the legs and some iron and timber on both the old and new engine houses. Document - VICTORIA HILL - LETTER TO MR BLAKE FROM ALBERT RICHARDSON
Carbon copy of a handwritten letter to Mr Blake from Albert Richardson dated 5th Sept. 1971. In the letter he says he enclosed a photocopy of the 'History of Victoria Hill', which he completed on behalf of the Rotary Club of South Bendigo. In response to an application to the National Trust for Classification, he received a letter from Colonel Birch and also two typewritten copies of his manuscript, properly referenced from his marginal notes. The Society had played host to the Dandenong and Preston Historical Societies and the members were pleased with what they saw on the Victoria Hill and other places.
