"Memorandum of Agreement" - between the PMTT and the employee for the supply of a uniform and for the payment of a four pounds fidelity and security for the uniform and performance over a specified period and to keep the uniform in good order. Two copies - made out to Edward Bernard O'Day and Richard Charles Wayman. Witnessed by H Heath for the PMTT. Set of 3 MTOCo cable tram equipment specifications: 1 - Contract No. 8 - sheave pulleys, crown pulleys, curve pulleys, depression frames, manhole covers, and manhole frames 2 - Contract No. 9 - for 13500 casks of cement - imported from Europe, including storage, tensile strength, and timing of deliveries. 3 - Contract No. 11 - similar to 1 - (11 has been typed over the 8) - details the items, referenced drawings, signed by Geo S Duncan as Engineer. Includes Schedule and Tender forms. Notices to cable tram employees and signalmen about the operation of the intersection of Collins and Swanston Street c1921. Details how Police would signal for the number of trams to cross in either direction and how the signalman would operate the signals and the cable depression lever for Collins St cable cars. The Rules for signalmen dated 1/7/1921 and signed by J G Roberts, Manager Cable system for the MMTB. Functional object - Digital Memory module, KDM, "97100183", c1995
These items were used by tram and bus drivers as part of the Metcard machine management system. The PM (portable memory) key was issued to each driver. At the start of a shift, the driver would put it into a cream-coloured terminal at the sign-on point (starter's office in the depot) and transfer their shift information onto the key. Once the driver reached the vehicle, they put the key into the black-coloured terminal (tram driver's keypad - TDKP or bus driver's keypad) to upload the shift data to the vehicle. See item 2582 for more details and other examples.Demonstrates an item used on buses and trams for management of the Metcard Machines and ticketting issue.Digital Memory module, or Portable Memory Key, equivalent in type to a USB stick, black plastic with a sliding mechanism to protect 8 copper contact strips with a digital memory area at one end. Stamped into the memory area part number "97100188. On the reverse side is a lable giving details of the owner, part number, and serial number and that it is subject to a charge in favour of the National Australia Bank. Has as key type appearance. Colour slide of W2 219 and SW6 866 at Camberwell Depot. Both trams have the destination of Camberwell Depot. No. 219 has adverts for Metro Hair, Dux and Nabisco biscuits, but is yet to be fitted with marker lights - (fitted Feb. 1974). SW6 866 has been fitted with marker lights (Dec. 1970). The advertising signs are unreadable adverts. Based on the conversion dates of the two trams to ones with marker lights, early 1970s.
