Typed on Loadable Parchment watermarked paper. Signed in ink by H. A. Title gold blocked. Details Alex Cameron's 1923 visit to America, Great Britain and the Continent of Europe in connection (note different spelling to the cover) with electric tramways. In particular it was to investigate the question of the use of Conduit systems. Visited San Francisco, Los Angeles, Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, New York and Washington. Then to London, Paris, Brussels. Also attended the Municipal Tramways Association conference held in Portsmouth, August 1923. His conclusions - conduit system not desirable, and the need to regulate buses from competition with tramways. Has an appendix extracts of numerous reports, letters and papers about the various issues. Report dated 29th Oct. 1924. Suburbs from a Special Bus" Book Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways ...Thirty two page landscape booklet on semi gloss white paper with off white or cream cover and single supplementary white sheet tipped onto the inside of the front cover titled "See Melbourne's Beautiful Beaches and Garden Suburbs from a Special Bus". Saddle stapled, printed letterpress. Text printed in black and green ink. Cover green ink only. The book advertising MMTB's Special tourist bus, giving overall tour details on page 1, including fares, time of departures and reservations. Each tour has a map showing the route, details of the tour route with notes and photographs. Page 14 shows a maximum traction tram on the reserved track in Dandenong road and page 30, W2 488 outbound in Victoria Parade. Page 32 has an advertisement for the Round Trip by Tram 1/-. Front cover has details of the departure times and fares and a photo of the Tourist Bus. The supplementary sheet has been prepared for the tours that operated daily from Sun Sept. 18 to Friday May 31, except Anzac Day. Angliss was provided with power from, the VR Railways 20000V bus and has specific instructions in the document. Includes reference to Carlton Control. Document issued under the order of T.P. Titled "Speed Tests - PCC Type Car No. 980 - June 1950", marked "Chairman's Copy", dated 17 July 1950, prepared by the MMTB Testing Department, Report No. S21/1/2. Gives details of testing done to determine the coasting characteristics of the tram, with crush, seated or no load. Tested in Miller St, Preston. Also reports on the maximum speed compared to car 888, and scheduled speed. Has appendices with the actual data. Conclusion on page 3 - that 980 would show an improvement of about 5% in schedule speed of SW6 cars.
