2017 was a busy year for building and redevelopment at Galen Catholic College. This sequence of photos shows the progressive redevelopment and refurbishment of the original Galen Catholic College buildings into two of the school's new junior school buildings. These two buildings constituted the entire Galen Catholic College from their construction in 1975 until 1983, when only senior level classes were conducted. In 1853, Bendigo Miners protested against the 30 shilling miners licence the had to pay the government. They wore red ribbons to show their protest and shopkeepers hung red ribbons outside their premises in support. Thousands of miners signed a petition to Governor LaTrobe to no avail.
