The card was sent by James Henry Wicks to his sister, unknown. After serving in the 7th Batt, J H Wicks transfered to the 5th Machine Gun Batt AIF in France. He returned home in 1919Greeting card.The outer card is a parchment type paper fawn in colour. The front cover has a yellow ribbon band rectangular in shape glued to the card. A rectangular card is glued over this. The card contains flowers, an image of a church or mosque in a half circle. Above this to the right is wording. The card opens to a centre piece which is paper, a light blue in colour.Front cover in centre card. Believing ye Rejoice, 1.Peter.1.8. On the card itself, Greetings from a Soldier boy in Eygpt 1916. The Warrnambool Hot Rod Club was formed in 1958 at the Warrnambool racecourse. In 1969 the Club transferred to a site on the Princes Highway. Today the Club is the Premier Speedway Club and the major annual event is the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic. Sisters from St Joseph's Convent at 1 Kent Road, Surrey Hills taught at Our Holy Redeemer School in Mont Albert Road from 1902-1967. Formally known as Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, they were often called the Josephites or 'Brown Joeys' on account of their brown habits. The order was founded by Saint Mary MacKillop (1842–1909). The order originally transferred to Surrey Hills from South Melbourne where they ran a Home for Destitute Children. The last 3 sisters from Surrey Hills transferred to the Gisborne parish in December 1967.
