Photo taken on the day of the Wattle's removal from the River Yarra by two mobile cranes, the vessel is suspended above the river. A very significant moment in the life of the Wattle as this was the first day of the major restoration project that continues from 2009 through 2012 aiming to finish in mid 2013. Prior to this restoration project there was a long lead up to find funding and resources to restore the Wattle and ensure that Wattle was not scrapped. Lake Bolac Hotel constructed in 1862 following the establishment of a 'shanty' on the same site by James Brown in 1856. James Brown originally established a "shanty" in 1856, then built a wooden hotel and then erected the current bluestone hotel in 1862. It is made from locally quarried bluestone. In early years the hotel served the community for church services, as a barber-shop and as a morgue.

The Hurstbridge Methodist Church was built in 1925. A vestry was added in c.1949. The Edwardian hall was originally located in Greensborough and moved to Plenty in 1965. It was moved to Hurstbridge in 1985. 'Dunhelen' is situated on the Mickleham Road at Greenvale. The rear of the homestead was constructed in the 1850's and the original owners were Richard and George Sinclair Brodie who emigrated from Scotland.A coloured photograph of part of a porchway of a house. The verandah roof is constructed from wooden beams and corrugated iron. The walls are bluestone with granite stone quions around the corners and window frames. The Spalding factory was located at the intersection of Ballarat Rd and McIntyre Rd in Sunshine (North East corner). The factory made sporting goods, and in 1972 Spalding acquired T. W. Sherrin Pty Ltd which was a major manufacturer of footballs used in Australian Rules football games. In the early 1990's the factory in Sunshine was demolished and replaced by the first Bunnings Hardware store to be erected in Victoria. In July 2003 Spalding was bought out by the Russell Corporation.The board is a historical record of the loyal employees who provided at least 25 years of service to Spalding or to T. W. Sherrin Pty Ltd.Brown stained wooden board with wave shaped top which is about 14 cm less wide than the base. The names of employees who have provided 25 years of loyal service are recorded on the board in gold coloured lettering. The board contains the names of 50 workers who had reached the 25 year service milestone at SPALDING, and also the names of 4 employees who did the same at T. W. SHERRIN Pty Ltd. Skittles was a game of European origin maybe as early as the 4th or 5th century and became popular in England in the 14th century. Many Bendigo hotels included Skittle Alley's and some early mentions of these include Epsom in 1856. Teams could even play for monetary prizes.
