Printed colour postcard titled "City Hall and Shoppers Square Ballarat". Has an inbound tram showing the Grenville St sign on the rear, and one of the crossbench cars loading passengers outside the Town Hall. Shows Snows building, people in the median strip - busy holiday or a Sunday. Images of the front and back of the card and a close-up of the two trams in the bottom left-hand corner. Note the lamp or coloured destination sign on the roof of the inbound tram. On the rear, the postcard has been divided into two with the words "Post Card" and "Printed in Great Britain" on the top, a "Valentine Series" on the side. Addressed to Miss J Johnstone, 30 Weighbridge St, Flemington, and with the words "Dear Jeannie, / How do you like this one. / Maggie". Shows the additional trams to the basic service on Weekdays.Set of five type foolscap sheets - landscape format, along with a set of carbon copies, of the "On and Off" times dated 12 October 1944. Details the sign on / sign off times for each run or table number operated by Motormen / Conductors, where the first service went to, where it came in from if applicable, the number of trips it did to terminus eg G for Gardens, V for Victoria St and the total miles of that run or table. The Miles have been typed in red ink to give a column breakup. Sheets for Basic Service Weekdays, Middle Runs - Mondays to Thursdays - (additional services am, lunch, PM and theatre), Middle runs for Fridays, Middle Runs Saturdays, and Sundays. Shows the additional trams to the basic service on Weekdays and hours of one man operation.Single large typed sheet of paper, titled SECV, Electricity Supply Department - Ballarat Branch, Ballarat Tramways, "Motorman's Runs with daily rostered hours". Arranged with four main columns, Monday to Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and within each main column 9 further columns giving Run No, Take Up, Relief times, Ord Rate (hours), One Man Rate, Spread (always "-" except for two on Saturday). Sign On and Sign Off - either 10 or 15 and the Total Hours. Columns vertically ruled in red ink. Not dated, but preparation format aligns with 3418 - 11/10/1946 - assume 10/1946. Shows the additional trams to the basic service on Weekdays and hours of one man operation.Single large typed sheet of paper, titled SECV, Ballarat Tramways, "Conductors' Runs with daily roistered hours". Arranged with four main columns, Monday to Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and within each main column 9 further columns giving Run No, Take Up, Relief times, Ord Rate (hours), One Man Rate, Spread (always "-" except for two on Saturday). Printed by wax cut stencil or Gestetner method. Details the run number that an employee would do for a particular week and day of the week. Has dated of "July 1946" and initials "M.M." in top right hand corner. 3419.2 - ditto, but for Conductors. Runs end in letter C. See also Reg. Gives two different arrangements.Typed sheet, carbon copy, giving two forms of rosters for Traffic Inspectors. Titled "Traffic Inspectors Duty Rosters" and dated 30/9/1953 has rosters for (A) - four traffic inspectors - twelve week rotation and (B) for three inspectors - three weeks rotation. Shows the hours of work (all 38 hour week), starting and finishing times, for each day of the week. Did it change with the number of inspectors available? That is with one of the four being on leave. Postcard - Folder set, Valentine & Sons Publishing Co, "Geelong Photographic Souvenir", early 1920's
Shows views of the Geelong CBD and beach area in the 1930's including one tram photo and two other photos of trams in the street and the centre poles which were later removed. Demonstrates production of souvenirs of the era - folded postcards. The photos could also be used for individual postcards.Set of 15 black and white views of Geelong printed on a folded strip, glued within a manila colour cardboard folder, titled "Geelong Photographic Souvenir". Booklet printed with an address area with title and kookaburras and on the rear, an area where the sender could write their name. Produced by The Valentine Publishing Co. Pty Ltd Melbourne. The rear has a slit on the rear cover that allowed the folder to be secured. Pictures are: 1. Panorama of Eastern Beach Geelong 2. Eastern Beach Gardens 3. Eastern Beach 4. Ryrie St with centre poles and a tram in the distance. 5. Botanic Gardens 6. Johnstone Park 7. Gordon Technical College 8. Significant in being a roster rotation sheet that was corrected and reissued a short time later. Shows how the crews were organised in relation to their work and total times worked.Single sheet of off white duplicating paper titled "Rotation Roster S.134/ R.1 25/8/70". Printed by wax cut stencil or Gestetner method. Details the run number that an employee would do for a particular week and day of the week and the total hours mins worked that week. Has a number of pin hole in the corners and centrally showing that it was used on a board. Has minor changes in ink at the bottom of the sheet that lead to Reg item 2294. See also Reg. (G) General Instructions - items 83 to 98. See condition notes - not in the best condition - needs careful handling. 3486.4 - ditto - similar to above, but 34 pages through to instruction 104. Added section (F) after (E) - "Automatic Braking - clauses 72 - 79, possibly an earlier version of above when trams were fitted with dead man controls. Held within a cardboard folder with a metal binder. Cover has been covered with brown paper and adhesive tape, but only remains on the inside of the cover. Item added 3/10/2007.
