Test plate rectangular glass slide with rulings under circular cover glass within yellow circle and brown border enclosed in red hinged box with blue lining. Described as “A sample Microscope slide - Test plate with rulings from 30,000 to 120,000 per inch”. This is the only surviving ruling reaching up to 120,000; hence is both unique and valuable.Labels on slide: “Test plate 10,000 to 120,000. Ruled by H.J. Grayson, Melbourne”. Cardboard box containing 3 ampoules of phenol and a sealed, sterile hympdermic needle. Front of box is labelled 'Sterile/Oily Phenol Injection B.P./(Phenol 5% in Almond Oil)/5ml/Code 5313B/Reg. No. HK-02821'. Box is also printed with some use and storage instructions, and the name of the manufacturer. Underside of box is printed with the text 'BATCH 9015313 MFG.AUG.89/EXP.AUG.92'. Phenol ampoules are made of glass and connected together in a strip. Text printed on each ampoule reads 'CAUTION S2/PHENOL IN/ALMOND OIL/5% 5ml/DAVID BULL/EXP. DATE AUG '92'. Hypodermic needle is sealed in a sterile packet with orange backing. Writing on packaging reads 'Sub-Q/REORDER NO. 5115/STERILE SINGLE USE/HYPODERMIC NEEDLE/26g 5/8 (15.9mm)/NON-TOXIC/NON-PYROGENIC' -

This vase was gifted to ANZCA during a visit to the college by fifteen members of the Chinese Society of Anesthesiology (CSA). This visit signified an exchange of education, research and friendship. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the ANZCA President, David A Scott, and the President of the CSA to signify the spirit of collaboration. Medium sized, round shaped vase, glazed red, possibly lacquerware, decorated with raised relief creme coloured dragons among scrolling clouds. Attached to a square brown plinth.
