Pressed metal uniform badge for the Melbourne Tramways Board, Employees, available all lines. Round pressed steel badge with the words "All Lines" pressed into the badge around the top portion of the badge, the word "TRAMWAY EMPLOYEE" and number "10" pressed into the lower half of the badge -with small horizontal lines within the individual letters. Has a brass finish with the Melbourne Tramways Board logo in the lower part of the badge. On rear badge two metal lugs have been soldered onto the badge and a leather strap with a button hole cut into to enable it to be worn on a uniform. Leather strap secured with a brass rivet. Used possibly from mid 1910's when the Board was formed until it was replaced by the MMTB in 1921. Used possibly from mid 1910's when the Tramway Board was formed until it was replaced by the MMTB in 1921 or when a different identification system was implemented. Most likely made by Stokes and Sons - possible imprint covered by the leather part.Demonstrates the method of identifying cable tram employees. Round pressed brass badge with the words "Gripman" pressed into the centre of the badge around the top portion of the badge, the letters "C13H. Has a nickel-plated finish with the Tramways Board logo on the lower part of the badge. Demonstrates and yields information about the ESCo tickets of 1906, shows the variety of tickets and passes used.Framed - wooden surround, glass, set of 26 actual tickets and two sketches of passes, timber backing board with the title "Ballarat Tramways - Sample tickets", dated 1906. Sets out the various tickets used by ESCo at the time and most likely used as a training aid for new conductors on both the electric and horse trams. Not to be displayed in light or hung up, that is display with care as fading is likely.
