Yields information about equipment made for Overhead tramway range and materials used and how correspondence was exchanged with the SEC via the Agent General.4914.1 - Letter from The Forest City Electric Co. Limited of Manchester 23/6/1937, to the Agent General for Victoria and the SEC, notifying that they have included within the shipment free of charge, three sample insulators and booklet 15.2. 4914.2 - Booklet or Sheet 15.2, titled "Overhead Line Material" comprising 12 pages showing details of porcelain insulators available from The Forest City Electric Co., and other associated equipment, including cap and cone suspensions, wood strain insulators, Giant Strain Insulators, overhead frogs, crossings, bonding compressors and contactors. Each sheet had three staples on left hand side and two punch holes. Meter has the current marked in Amps from 0 to 15. No manufacturer or use details known, would have been collected from the depot. Could have been used for the grinder or wheel lathe. Wood block has four mounting holes, bevelled edges and opening for cables on the lower edge. White meter face, has a marked reading of 6Amps. Consists of a timber base (very light softwood - ??) with two slots that was nailed to a wall and after the cable installed a cover strip applied. Has one end mitred or cut at 45 degrees. Coin - Coin Dispenser
Demonstrates tramway equipment used by conductors or One Man Operators to hold and dispense coins when handling fares.Manufactured coin dispenser from brass and steel plate for 3 coins, - 3d, 6d and 1/- (5c and 10c coins fit the relevant slots). Coin holder sections are made from brass, fitted with springs and then braised together as unit. Screwed with four screws onto a cut and folded section of steel. The folded sections of steel would have allowed it fit into a cash bag or holder. The number "60" has been stamped into the lower section of the steel section - see image 3. Has a van marked "Arch Smallgoods" in Lydiard St North. Shows the Mair St traffic light, and Railway Hotel on the corner. In the background is the George Hotel, St Paul's Technical College, and Union Fidelity Trustee Company buildings in the background. Functional Object - Sealing Punch, 1912?
Has a strong association with the Geelong tramway system, yields information about the sealing or securing equipment from interference and demonstrates the type of equipment used. Exact use not known - could have been used for multiple purposes.Nickel plated steel sealing punch - with base unit, spring, handles, pins and punch or press that was used to seal or secure lead seals either on power meters, ticket boxes or circuit breakers. Placed letters "M.E.S. Co Ltd" onto the lead seal along with numbers "1". On outside of handle "PAT. 9682 1902" and in inside ".1" - the number of the press? Trams tramways ...A first aid box, rectangular shaped metal box 180mmHx265mmWx215mm D, painted black, hinged lid with 2 hinges, metal carrying handle on top, and metal locking clasp on the front. Has a white sticker with first aid written in red on the lid, and a gold SECV transfer. On the front of the box, below the locking clasp are the numbers "2787" in a gold transfer. Inside of box is gloss white, there are four metal brackets to hold some kind of partition. In the lid a four brackets to hold some kind of implement, and four corner brackets (similar to photo mounts) to hold something.
