This WWI Honor Roll was originally displayed in the Kilcunda Road State School (no.3337), which was located at the north east corner of the intersection of the Bena - Kongwak and Buchanans' Roads, Bena, Victoria, 3946. The school was located amongst the cypress trees at 645 Bena-Kongwak Road. The school was relocated in 2008 to the Coal Creek Community Park and Museum, 12 Silkstone Road, Korumburra, 3950 to become the Masonic Lodge building in the park display. On the west side of the intersection of the Bena - Kongwak and Buchanans' Roads is a brass plaque on a granite boulder with the following inscription TO COMMEMORATE THE DISTRICT OF KILCUNDA ROAD First Surveyed 1879. This is the site of the KILCUNDA ROAD UNITING CHURCH 1911 to 1966. Diagonally opposite at 645 Bena-Kongwak Road was the site of the KILCUNDA ROAD PRIMARY SCHOOL No: 3337, 1902 to 1975. Erected by The School Mother’s Club continuing as The Kilcunda Road Social Club 2008. One of the few remaining historic items from Kilcunda Road settlement.Honour roll of varnished wood, with three panels, an undulating shaped pediment, plain columns at sides, painted gold text and the Australian Imperial Forces insignia on base.Roll of Honor, Kilcunda Road State School. Copper intrauterine devices (IUDs), first marketed in the early 1970s, represent an important contraceptive option for 150 million women worldwide. The method is safe, rapidly reversible, inexpensive, highly effective, long-acting (up to 20 years for some products [1]), and non-hormonal; these attributes make it unique and desirable for many users. However, increased bleeding and pain cause up to 15% of users to have the device removed within the first year [2]; still higher percentages tolerate some level of these side effects yet retain use of the method. In one study, 67% of women using the TCu380A complained about menstrual side effects within the first year of use [3]. The League was formally established on 4 October 1932 to to promote free social intercourse and goodwill among its members and their mutual improvement. Membership was open to all persons, with one or both parents or grandparents born in China. Wives of Chinese members were permitted as members with the same privileges. Open Monument is a contemporary artwork acknowledging the history of Chinese people in Ballarat. The Chinese diaspora was global and many Chinese people came to Ballarat and the Victorian Goldfields. The work details some of the personal Chinese family memories of Ballarat from the goldrush forward. The 33 marble laser-etched panels include found images and texts mounted on a modernist metal architectural feature holding back a grassed hill landscape. This was the official state flag of Italy used by Italian armed forces during WWII. The tri-colour flag with the emblem of the former Royal House of Savoy was the first national flag and lasted for 85 years until the birth of the Italian Republic in 1946. Soldiers' inscriptions on the flag suggest that it was capture from Italian troops during the Battle of El Alamein on 9 July 1942. The service numbers tell us that these soldiers served with the 2/24th Battalion which was raised Wangaratta. Recognising the cultural and historical significance of the flag to both Italy and Australia, the Wangaratta RSL received a grant to have the flag professionally restored and framed in 2017.Large Italian flag with green, white and red vertical panels of equal size defaced with the Savoyan coat of arms, a red shield with white cross bordered with blue. Three two-piece hoist ties on the green side. Panels are sewn together from separate pieces of fabric. The shield appears to have been printed directly onto the white panel. The edges are hemmed.There are several handwritten inscriptions on the coat of arms in red and blue/black ink detailing the name and service numbers of different soldiers. (Not all of the writing is legible). This ribbon is from the Geelong Agricultural & Pastoral Show in 1959 and was awarded for being the Champion Merino Wool Fleece.Red, white and blue wool ribbon with yellow tassels on short ends. Yellow stitched/stamped text. Text divided into three lines, one on each coloured panel.
