These are the original medals for VX44919 Pte A N Haines. Pte Haines served during WW2 and was posted to 2/21 Aust Inf Bn. Pte Haines was a POW on Hainan Island and was is presumed to have died on or before 01 May 1945.They are original Medals.Two copper colour stars and two silver colour medals with appropriate ribbons. Information from these notes is entered into 1931.03, temporary Honor Roll, but not into the larger (.01) Roll of Honor Book - apparently an unfinished project. Bus timetable for Davis Urban Services Ballarat, route 15 on light green duplicating paper. Route 15 - Sturt St. West to and from City. Not dated, but probably c1975, as Davis have moved to their "then" new depot in Norman St. Ballarat. Timetable gives times for departure to and the terminals, notes on intermediate times, notes on variations to standard arrangements and location of terminals. On Sunday, the bus served the Botanical Gardens area and route 15A, which served Lake Wendouree by Gardens Kiosk. Has a Davis bus logo - poppet head and bus. Was designed to be folded in the centre. There are three copies of this photograph, the first was formerly in a frame and was in the possession of the Shire of Grenville until it was donated to LDHS. (Frame is in room 01 at Resource Centre. It is understood photograph was removed from frame with a view to having it restored.) The second copy of the photograph is mounted photograph 233 and the third is a copy held in the Clarke family file. John Clarke was the owner of Emu Hill station. (See photograph of Emu Hill homestead, Registration number 2013-01). Between 1872 and 1917 he was also a Shire of Grenville councillor, and served as Shire President in 1878, 1889, 1898, 1906 and 1912. John's wife was Mary Jane Newcomen, daughter of William (W.W.R.)
