The company was established in May 1888 and commenced commercial processing in November 1888. Framed collage featuring a letter written by Tilden to Marion Anderson, associated envelope postmarked March 6, 1949, and a book page with reproduced photograph of young Tilden playing tennis in a stadium. Page has signature by Tilden in blue ink. Letter thanks recipient for her letter and gives message of encouragement for her son 'Brat' (Arthur Anderson). The Anderson's were close friends of Tilden who supported him during a 10 month period of incarceration in 1949.
