Black and White Photograph of the Narre Warren East shop, possibly taken 1953-1956, featuring a building at the top of a driveway. About seven cars are parked out the front of the building. The shop has a high-pitched roof, a central door, and large windows or a verandah. Under the left windows is an advertisement for Swallows ice cream. There are trees surrounding the shop. This was the first and only store in Narre Warren East. It is now a house on Wellington Road. The home and store was built by Bert Dorning, and the Dornings opened and ran the store.

Portland Quilters Exhibition, 1-28 February 2006, Portland Arts Centre.Hand and machine pieced and appliqued quilt. Central depiction of the Portland bay with jettie, breakwater and Port. Scene includes fishing boats, ships, tug boats, a whale, foreshore with several buildings and a bluff with a lighthouse. Central image edged in blue fabric quilting. Surrounding this are 20 printed images of old buildings taken from sketches contained in 'The Portland of Jack Adamson' by Joe Wiltshire (book). Outside boder is blue quilted fabric. Black and white copy negative of a photo of MMTB A class No. 10 in Swanston St, c1924/25. Rod Atkins advised 11/10/2020: Confirmed A10 is in Swanston Street at Lonsdale Street facing north. The building behind the tram still stands today on the north west corner together with two large buildings in Lonsdale Street. This photograph shows the Orbost Butter factory, which in 1917, installed a very successful electric light. the dark heap to the left of the road is Supposedly the grave of "Dan the Cook" who was speared by Aborigines in 1857. Dan Moylan, known as "Dan the Cook"was speared to death in 1851 at Orbost Station, Snowy River as punishment for kidnapping a young Aboriginal girl and holding her for three days, refusing to release her. The men of the tribe congregated at Dan's hut. When Dan came outside, a volley of spears was launched at him, killing him. In the tragic aftermath, the camp at Milly Creek was attacked in retribution and a number of Gunai/Kurnai people were killed. The Orbost Butter and Produce Co. Ltd was registered on June 1st 1893 and was an important source of income to the Orbost district.
