Order of Ceremony, 4th/19th Prince of Wales's Light Horse Regiment, Laying Up of the Guidons of Victorian Light Horse Regiments and Commemorative Service for the 90th Anniversary of the Charge of the Nek, 08/2005
The 4th/19th Prince of Wales's Light Horse Regiment was the custodian of the guidons of the 8th, 13th, 17th, 19th, and 20th Light Regiments. On 7 August 2005 the Regiment, with due ceremony, presented these guidons to the Trustees of the Shrine of Remembrance to be laid up in the Shrine. The activity also commemorated the charge at The Nek during the Gallipoli campaign of World War 1. Sourced at Battersea Vintage Clothing Fair, London in 2005.A good example of an early 20th century corsetEarly 20th century corset underbust style with ivory coloured cotton with lace detail. Front opening with busk and lacing, allowing easy adjusting. Six wide, adjustable suspender straps with fancy metal clips Boning at between one and four inch intervals, mostly no more than two inches apart. Several re-enforced seams inbetween the boning. The Wodonga RVIB Auxiliary formed on March 23, 1932. This small collection contains index cards which were maintained by RVIB and contain the amount of donations made by the Auxiliary between 1976 - 1995 as well as the presentations delivered by RVIB employees to Auxiliary meetings between 1978 - 1985. Correspondence to and from RVIB head office ranging between 1990 - 2005. A survey from RVIB head office in 1999 reveals the average age group of the committee and members was 70-80 years old. Functional object - Object, Apollo Brailler Mark II, 1979-2005
Designed by Nimoka (Nippon Moujin Youga Kaihatsu), it was produced between 1979-2005. A heavy Braille writer for its size, the Apollo provides a standard typewriter style albeit with the oblong keys sitting to the left hand side of the brailler. The design easily fits within a small musical instrument style case, and consists of a rectangular shaped structure made out of metal base with black coloured keys and a grey coloured soft plastic cover.
