Under the Bridges of Paris" is a 1913 popular song with music written by Vincent Scotto, the original French lyrics (entitled "Sous les ponts de Paris") by Jean Rodor (1913), and English sections of lyrics added by Dorcas Cochran (1952) resulting in the released version (1954) containing both French and English sections. This version of the song was recorded by Rene Paul.The music has social significance as an example of music popular in the first half of the 20th century.Sheet music for "Under the bridges of Paris". The cover is blue with white illustrations of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. In the centre is a head and shoulders photograph of a man in a suit and tie. Cape made and worn by Anne (nee White) Field, the mother-in-law of Jean Field at age 19. She came out from England on a sailing clipper (SS. Waspole) at age 7 years. Lived in Canberra as a tent city. Textile - Quilt, Child's Cot Cover Insert, Mrs Bertha Emily Nitschke, 1929
This cot cover insert was made during the 1929 depression an a time of financial hardship. It was made by Jean Hepner's Grandmother from used woollen garments. They were hand stitched on to an old woollen blanket. The quilt was used by at least five of the seven children born in to this family and also by grandchildren in later years. It was used with assorted covers which were replaced when needed.Child's cot cover insert (wagga) made from discarded woollen garments such as socks, stockings and vests and stitched in multiple layers on to a woollen blanket. On 3 February 1974 the Revs. W.M. Trewin and Fred Strickland became ministers of the new Mt. Waverley joint Methodist/Presbyterian parish. Rev Bill Trewin born 1926 Moonee Ponds. Worked in two home missions: Western District and Gippsland. Whilst studying at Queen's College did a vacation appointment in Nhill, where he met Jean Bound. Bill and Jean married 1953. Bill was ordained in 1956. His appointments included Dunolly, Mornington, West & East Bentleigh, Moonee Ponds, Mt Waverley and Noble Park. In between his appointments at Bentleigh and Moonee Ponds Bill lived in Milan, where he ministered to both Italian and English speaking Congregations. Served as Chairman of the Presbytery of Westernport 1985-1986. Frederick Phillips Strickland b. 1910. Ormond College. Ordained into the Presbyterian Church 1941 Rainbow-Jeparit. Jean Brown (Nee Vincent) joined because her husband -Les Brown(dec)- was a volunteer. They had 4 children - Stephen, Christine(Myrtle), Peter, Mark, (Stephen, Peter, Mark were juniors & seniors). Jean joined the ladies auxiliary in 1955 - 1/06/1975 and 1985 - current. Has been a member for over 20years and is a life member. As an auxiliary member was involved in Street stalls, presentation nights, social nights, RCH appeals. ... Was also a member of the west end mothers club and helped at the technical school. 2. Peter Brown - was in juniors 1971 - 1976, (in 1972 at Chelsea the team of R.
