Printed Debenture for "The Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust", No. 539, for 500 Pounds, B Series, entitling the Bearer to the sum of 500 pounds on 31/3/1914. Has the paper seal of the PMTT applied, signed by Alex Cameron, Henry Barnes and W. O. Strangward. Has a perforated edge along the right hand side. Was printed for issuing on 1/1/1913, but has a stamp in the top right corner issuing on 1/7/1913. Also has a red stamp on the lower edge "Produced for Jul 10th" Has been punched by machine stating "The Melbourne Tramways Trust is now the owner of this Debenture which has ceased to be transferable by virtue of the provisions of the Melbourne Tramways Trust Act 1903" and "CANCELLED". Memorial cone from the original 'Lone Pine' at Gallipoli, presented to Headmaster Neville Clarke by B Company, Mentone Grammar Cadet Unit, 15th August 1995 in memory of those who served. The Battle of Lone Pine was fought between Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) and Ottoman Empire forces during the Gallipoli Campaign of the First World War, between 6 and 10 August 1915. The battle was part of a diversionary attack to draw Ottoman attention away from the main assaults being conducted by British, Indian and New Zealand troops around Sari Bair, Chunuk Bair and Hill 971, which became known as the August Offensive.

Gwyn HANSSEN PIGOTT (1935 - 11 July 2013) Born Ballarat Gwyn Hanssen-Pigott completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Melbourne University in 1954. She spent three years apprenticed to Ivan McMeekin at Sturt Pottery, Mittagong, New South Wales. As a teenager she was taught to through by Neville Bunning, Ceramics lecturer at the Ballarat Technical Art School (a division of the Ballarat School of Mines). Between 1958 and 1965 Gwyn Hanssen-Piggott worked at various potteries in the United Kingdom, including Winchcombe Pottery in Gloucestershire, Leach Pottery at St Ives, and Wenford Bridge Pottery and Aldermaston Pottery in Berkshire. In 1960 she established her own studio in London. The essence of her work is purity, simplicity and form. She worked with porcelain for strength and for its translucent nature, and fired with wood to add a dine ash bloom to glazes. In 1992 Gwyn Hanssen-Piggott visited the Ballarat School of Mines Ceramics students, under the direction if lecturers Neville French and Prue Venables In 1994 she was artist in residence at the Ballarat School of Mines for six months. Gwyn Hanson Piggott received the Order of Australia Medal in 2002. Born Gwynion Lawrie John at Ballarat on 01 January 1935, Gwyn Hanssen Piggott died in London on 11 July 2018 London where she was for a solo exhibition of her new work. It is believed this work was presented at the time of Gwyn Hanssen Piggott's residencey in Ballarat.. It is part of the Federation University Art Collection which features over 2000 works and was listed as a 'Ballarat Treasure' in 2007. BDSC - Bendigo & District Servicemen's Club. The Servicemen's Club 73 - 75 Havilah Rd was a Co - Operative of the 3 Bendigo RSL's being Bendigo, Kangaroo Flat & Eaglehawk Sub Branches. In 1977 the Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Kangaroo Flat RSL Co operative Society Ltd was formed with Mr Des Paterson as Chairman and Mr Jack Barnes as Secretary. The Co op owned the facility and the Bendigo & District Servicemen's Club was formed to operate the facility. It was built in 1978 and a liquor license was finally granted in August 1979 and opened. It was officially opened on December 19th 1979 by the Hon R.J. Hamer premier of Victoria. In the year 2000 the premises became the Bendigo District RSL Sub Branch Inc. Des Paterson was also on the of the BDSC Committee until 1984. He was heavily involved in the establishment of the BDSC. With the Bendigo RSL Sub Branch he was elected to Committee in 1973, Jnr Vice President 1974, Snr Vice President 1975, President 1976. Jack Barnes first Secretary refer Cat No 8040. Photograph BDSC. Roy Tayor was Bar Manager, refer Cat No 5687, Arthur Harridge Secretary 1979, Bill Nichols (William Bona) was President from 1978 - 80, he was made a Life member of in 1981. He was acknowledged as the driving force behind the establishment of the Club. With the Bendigo RSL Sub Branch he was elected to Committee 1961, 1966 - 68, 1970 - 72, 1974 - 81 (14 years) He was President 1968, 1972, 1979, 0ne year as Jnr Vice and 4 as Snr Vice President. Various PartiesReference, Research, InformationKHS Imposed OrderStanley Seymour Argyle, later Sir Stanley, was Mayor of Kew for two terms: 1902-3, and 1903-4. He was later the Premier of Victoria (1932). While the file contains an article by Neville Pollard - Commonwealth Versus the States: Australia’s uniform gauge debacle (Australian Railway History, Feb 2014), most of the file is comprised of correspondence relating to the gift of a painting to Argyle in 1895. The correspondees include Ian Stanley Argyle, the grandson (Argyle Travel Coy. R.R, 172 St George’s Terrace, Perth, 6000), Kew Historical Society, and Kew City Council. A photocopy of the letter (poor quality) relating to the gift in 1895 is included in the file. The grandson’s letter advises that the gift was a small oil painting described as a ‘Field Scene’. Graham MASTERS Graham Masters is a potter based at Sweenies Creek, just outside Bendigo, Victoria. He specialises in a patented technique of low relief stoneware depicting Australian animals and landscapes. He obtained a Diploma of Art and Design in Ceramics from the Bendigo Institute of Technology in 1973, then operated a pottery for a year in Bendigo, before becoming an employee, then a partner at Maldon Pottery, Maldon, Victoria, with Neville Wilson and Thomas Metcalf. He left Maldon to set up his own pottery at Sweenies Creek in 1983 and has been there over 20 years. In 2000 Graham Masters started working at Bendigo pottery, and is one of five in the business, specialising in large works such as vases, platters and wine barrels, all handmade on the pottery wheel. graham masters, sweenies creek pottery, ceramics
