Glover Walk was named after Hannah Elizabeth Glover, a nurse who in 1908 established the Kerami guest house in Marysville. She became an active member of the local tourist association and was acclaimed for her 'energy and enterprise' (Riverine Herald, 31 December 1915). In this capacity she successfully lobbied government to fund walking tracks in the district, one of which was given her name. Both Cashmore brothers embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Palermo on 7th May 1915, and returned to Australia in mid-1919. Nine letters by Jack and two by Arthur were sent from Gallipoli, Egypt and Palestine. A letter by Jack from Palestine on 26th October 1917 tells of an upcoming action that "may be pretty big", and a later letter (March 1918) tells of men known to him who were lost at Beersheba.Eleven WW1 letters by Jack and Arch Cashmore (4th Light Horse Regiment, 5th Reinforcement). This is a photograph of the second Snowy River Bridge at Orbost. The section in the central span could have been built after flood damage. This bridge over the Snowy River was opened on July 4 1922. It was constructed in 1922 alongside the previous suspension bridge. Its building was a combined effort of the Victorian Railways and the Country Roads Board at a cost of 35,000 pounds. The Central Deborah Mine closed it's mining operations in 1954. The complete nature of the site encouraged the Bendigo City Council to purchase the site in 1970 in order that it be preserved. In 1971 the Bendigo Trust was formed and under its auspices the surface was opened to tourists in 1971' Extensive work enabled Level 2, underground to be opened to the public. This was followed in 1998 by Underground Level 3 Adventure tours. The photograph has recorded rail smash which occurred at Sunbury on 17th April 1919 when a stock train crashed into a goods train. It caused a lot of damage to the rolling stock and blocked rail traffic on the Bendigo and Maryborough lines. Cambarville is notable for its giant mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnans) trees within the Cumberland Memorial Scenic Reserve, and relics from former sawmills and gold mining. The Big Culvert is located nearby on the Marysville - Woods Point Road, which was historically part of the Yarra Track. Cambarville was established as a timber mill town in the 1940s. Timber mill owners A Cameron and FJ Barton named Cambarville. They established the mill to salvage timber from trees destroyed in the 1939 bushfires.
