Order of Service for Memorial Service for Perce McGuire WHITE (Perce WHITE) held at Sandridge Events Centre at North Port Oval on 1st July 2022. Ronald (Bunna) WALSH was born in Port Melbourne in 1933. Starting his career as a waterside worker he went on to become an official of the Waterside Workers' Federation and President the the South Melbourne ALP. In 1979 he was elected the the Victorian Legislative Assembly as the member for Albert Park. Throughout his parliamentary career he held a number of portfolios and was a great supporter of all things related to his birthplace, Port Melbourne. This is a destructive instrument which, when placed around the neck of the fetus and twisted, succeeded in severing the head. This type of instrument was used in emergency surgery when the fetus was already dead and the mother's condition was critical. This instrument might also have been used to remove tumors. This atlas was collected, along with fifteen other items, from St George's Hospital in Kew, Victoria, on the final day of obstetric services provided by the hospital. After 28/11/1998, all obstetric deliveries from the Birralee Maternity Service (St George's) were via Box Hill Hospital. Black hardcover book, with silver lettering on cover. Text printed on cover reads 'BIRTH ATLAS/SECOND EDITION/MATERNITY CENTRE ASSOCIATION/NEW YORK'. Arundell's Shoe Shop and Dalgety's Agency , centre of High St Charlton, north side c. 1987. Corner of High St and Williams Ave (now John Curtin Drive). Right hand building built by William Williams as a saddlery c. 1910. Arundell's Shoe Shop formerly ANA Boot and Shoe Shop established by John Arundell in 1901. The shop was sold by Vic Arundell in 1980 and closed. Next door was John Watson's Stock & Station Agents which later became Dalgety's. The end shop was the saddlery and then Bullock's grocery 1930's to 1970's. In 1957 became Charlton's first self service store. Became Australian Estates late 1970s. The shops were later demolished to make way for the Traveller's Rest. This uniform was provided to an Irishman who had been sponsered by the M&MTB for travel from Britain to Australia for work as a tram driver, he kept this uniform in mint condition through the years and has never been worn in service.This uniform is significant due to its excellent condition, a rarity for an uniform of it's age.Blue M&MTB uniform. They / formed an unofficial guard of / honour around Wendouree / Parade. / The trams were gaily decor- / ated for Opening Day. As the / line of cars came down Camp / Hill (Sturt Street) filled with / local dignitaries, the brakes on / the last car failed and it crashed / into the one in front. The win- / dows of both cars were / smashed, and the occupants / who had been sitting in state / made an undignified exit. / Seating accommodation was / from 32 to 36. Vathi is the main town of Ithaca where the municipal offices, local high school, medical centre and other services are located. It is one of the most natural ports in Greece. Ferries from the mainland used to dock at Vathi however, now arrive at the port of Piso Aetos. In middle of the harbour is the tiny islet of Lazaretos where the church of Ag Sotiros (the Saviour) stands. During the period of English rule, Lazaretos functioned as a quarantine station. The buildings erected by the British later served as a prison. However these were destroyed during the earthquakes of 1953 and later demolished. Lazaratos is now popular with young couples who chose to marry in the church. A coloured photograph overlooking the harbour of Vathi, the main town and port on Ithaca. Ithacan Naki Raftopoulos (centre) served in the Civilian Military Forces during WW 2 and is pictured with Arthur Pantatzis (left) and Theo Spirakos (Spirason). A number of Ithacan Greek men and Australian born men of Ithacan descent served in the Australian defence forces during World War 2. Medallion is a round shape with a fancy pattern in gold surrounding an enamelled centre with the word Swimming surrounding a picture of a person swimming.
