This photo album was collated by Ray Pearson, a tramways history enthusiast and collector. It was donated to the museum in 2012 along with one other photo album, by his grandson.This photo ablum is significant for containing a large volume of historic photographs of vehicles, personnel and events related to the the Victorian tramways - particularly Victorian Railways, Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong tramways - from c1920's to c1994.Brown rectangular photo album (landscape format) containing photographs, newsclippings, postcards and other paper documents. The album contains 25 separate leaves plus a front and back cover. The album is bound on the left edge with brown cord, tied in a knot at the front. The spine and page edges are tattered and many of the photographs and documents within are loose.The front cover has a printed decorative border, rectangular in shape with a geometric pattern. The corners of the border also have decorative geometric shapes. Yields information about the materials and the methods of installing electrical domestic cables in Ballarat houses during the 1920's.Section of timber or wooden electrical conduit used in houses c1920, to contain wires for electrical lamps and fittings. The album consists of 30 leaves of dark grey heavy paper with three creases on left hand side of sheet, bound into a heavy bluey grey folder, embossed in gold 'Scrap Book" and bound with bluey grey string with two holes. The cover has been embossed with a the blue grey in swirls. Inside of back cover is a white label, "A New Star Product", with a please ask for No. with "425" stamped on. Postcards have been glued into the album. Entries have been kept to a single line - cards are able to be dated from buildings, whether the trams have marker lights, types of motor cars and general Melbourne history. Separate card for each class of tramcar featured, with notes, statistics, MMTB name. Each card also has printers name and date on back. A photo album, spiral bound with 10 cardboard sheets with photos of late Alf Twentyman cable car set on covers. Each sheet coated with a glue and overlain by a plastic sheet. Album contains 34 photos of BTM W3 661operating in Melbourne 1989 on a charter for Yapper Tours. - no date on photos. Photos taken at Preston depot, South Melbourne loop, Camberwell depot, Thornbury depot, Preston Workshop gates, Sth Melb. depot, Victoria Parade, St Kilda, Brunswick depot, Victoria Market and Kew depot.
