A finely crocheted piece, with a semi-circular edging at the square neckline, and around the outer edge. 9 cms deep, one side has an opening but no fasteners are evident. Clothing. Very large, deep, linen lace collar.- Brussells Bobbin lace. Six large ''tear-drop'' shapes - 8cm long, enclose a delicate floral design. Thirteen daisy like flowers are spaced around the outer edge, along with leaves and smaller flowers. The long neck - edge is edged with a leaf - like design lace. Clothing. Guipure lace and spotted tulle bolero with sleeves. The 8cm cuffs of the sleeves are also guipure lace. The lace is of a floral design with tiny looped picots separating the floral motifs. Sleeves are of spotted tulle (.7 cm spots). The back of the bolero is shallow - just 26 cm deep, while the front dips to two peaks in the centre front.From shoulder to lower edge is 44 cms. Clothing. The lower section of this garment has been removed, making an accurate assessment impossible. A beautiful panel of lace from the neckline, dipping to a Vshape at the centre back, has a swirled and leaf design. This design extends over the shoulders and bustline, with a peaked finish below the bust. Bows and spots decorate the below elbow sleeves, and are finished at the lower edge with a panel of lace 8 cm deep at the seam, extending to 15 cms deep at the outer side. Clothing - MAGGIE BARBER COLLECTION: INFANTS NIGHTDRESS OR CHRISTENING GOWN, Late 1800's early 1900's
Clothing. High lace-edged round neckline - lace 1.3 cm deep. Long sleeves-gathered at the shoulder, and edged at the wrist with a 4.5 cm deep, gathered broderie anglais, featuring a shamrock, and flower design. The bodice has a centre front panel of lace. 9 cm wide at the neckline, tapering to 4 cm wide at the high waistline. This panel is edged with a 4 cm wide scalloped edge at the broiderie anglais trim. Three rows of pintucks, give a finish to the filigree braid, and the gathered broiderie frill. The long skirt is gathered at the lower bodice, and is 70 cms long. The lower 20.5 cms at the hemline has alternate bands of three pintucks, a 4 cm panel of flowers and cutwork broiderie, three pintucks, 4 cm panel panel of broiderie, three pintucks and a 4 cms deep machine stitched hem. Clothing. Bed cap. Fine cotton lace crown edged by a 1.5 cm band of insertion lace, which is threaded with a mauve silk ribbon 1 cm wide. This in turn edged with a 6 cm deep frill of cotton lace, featuring flower and leaf design, and has a scalloped edge. Clothing. Five sided green, silk, beaded bag. Lined with green linen gauze like fabric. Ten .8 cm brass loops sewn to the top of the bag.Has a drawstring of green cotton thread. Two peaked flaps, 7.5 cm deep, fall from below the drawstring over the top of the bag. Flaps and the main body of the bag have exquisite tiny glass beads - white, and clear-(reflecting the green of the fabric) in an absolutely exquisite floral design. These beads are the tiniest beads imaginable. The underside of the flaps is lined with the linen gauze, and an overlay of silk. Clothing. Navy blue velvet, on a brass frame, with a 34 cm long brass chain. A ''push-button'' 1.2 cm diameter, fastens the bag. A decorative, oval brass loop is attached to the centre of the frame. The velvet fabric is tightly gathered onto the frame. One side panel of the bag is exquisitely embroidered in a ''corded'' floral design, in pink, blue and greens. The bag is lined with a smokey blue watermark silk, with a flat pocket on one side. Object. Circular powder compact 6.5 cm diameter. Metal (possibly gold plated ?) with a circular glass insert, 5 cm in diameter, which has a gold floral design on the glass. A .6 cm metal, gold floral border surrounds the glass insert. Fastens with a metal push-up tab and loop. Back of the compact is made from gold metal 'oration' type mesh. Clothing. Circular, on a gold metal frame, with a gold (badly tarnished) brass chain handle. A small beaded brass clasp closes the bag. Three small .5 cm pearls sit on top of the clasp, one in the centre of the beaded clasp, and two other groups of three pearls on top of the frame, with tiny white, pink and green beads - possibly silk brocade, has an all-over floral design in cream, pink, and dull green, on a cream background. The bag is lined with cream satin and has a small internal side pocket. Clothing. Fine cream silk in a 8 pointed star shape, in the centre of the handkerchief - 15 cm diameter. Fine silk lace, 10 cm deep, surrounds this centrepiece. Adjoining the star shape is a one cm wide border, surrounded by 1.5 cm flowers, identical to those in the matching collar(11414.26). A Maltese Cross design in each corner brings the piece to a square shape. This joins fine lace in a flower and leaf design, with the Maltese Cross design in each corner, and at centre of each side.
