Shows buildings along both sides of Sturt St. Has a few pedestrians in the photo and some horse drawn vehicles in the background. Tram in style with destination box/lights at back of drivers canopy. Has title "Sturt Street - looking West, Ballarat" in top left hand corner. On rear "H.J. Summerscales, next Post Office, Ballarat - Printed in Germany" on left hand edge vertically. Post card dated 29/12/10 (1910), from E.H. Colson? at 49 Webster St. wishing the recipient a happy new year. Recipient - Mr. A. Steer, Glen Eira Rd. Elsternwick. Has a Ballarat Post office and stamp and Victorian 1d stamp (red). As well in pencil, a price "$15". See also scanned image file and prints from negative at Reg. Item 833. Demonstrates a souvenir item for the opening of the electric tramways in Ballarat in the form of a postcard, one of which has actually been used to send a message. Has a strong association with the people who sent and received the card.608 - Postcard size Souvenir Tram ticket, printed using blue ink on one side with fare, photos of power station, engine room, boiler room and a tram & No.11162 stamped on edge. On reverse side is space for stamp, address etc., - with line & "postcard' etc., printed in red ink. Letter/note to Mino Loveday Hutchins c/o P.O> Queenscliff. No date. Fares given on card are : Mount Pleasant and Orphanage and Grenville St. 3d, or Grenville St. and Tram sheds 3d. Printed in a blue/grey ink of various shades onto a white card. Souvenir 608.1 - as above, numbered 11308, has been punched on lower edge near right hand corner. Has been used as post card to a person in Alexandria?, but rear has been eaten by silverfish or similar. Did have a date stamp of "28-8-0?" See also Reg Item 2488, page 28 for ticket number 1595. Printed colour postcard titled "City Hall and Shoppers Square Ballarat". Has an inbound tram showing the Grenville St sign on the rear, and one of the crossbench cars loading passengers outside the Town Hall. Shows Snows building, people in the median strip - busy holiday or a Sunday. Images of the front and back of the card and a close-up of the two trams in the bottom left-hand corner. Note the lamp or coloured destination sign on the roof of the inbound tram. On the rear, the postcard has been divided into two with the words "Post Card" and "Printed in Great Britain" on the top, a "Valentine Series" on the side. In the middle of the photograph is the ESCo tramway waiting shelter, constructed in 1907. Has the Suttons building and D'Albora? buildings lettered in the photograph. The red printing layer is off register. The rear of the postcard has a central vertical line, with the word "Post Card" at the top, "Printed in Germany" on the left hand side and the number "B379 10" in the bottom right hand corner. Printed black and white postcard of a Ballarat horse tram arriving at the Grenville St. terminus, at the bottom end of Sturt St terminus. Has buildings on both sides of Sturt St. in photograph, with some other horse drawn vehicles and a few pedestrians. In the photo are Suttons building, and business near Grenville St. of an Ironmonger and S. Laurens? On the front of the card is written a short message: - "Mother and self arrived safely in Ballarat. Train did not get in till ten o'clock. Love to all, thank for kindness. Jessie Frewin. On rear is places for correspondences stamp, address. On left hand edge is "H. J.
