Shows Enez Domec Carre instructing them, and an unidentified woman (possibly Miss Williams) giving them elocution lessons with the aid of a blackboard and a reel to reel tape recorder. She does not remove her hat and coat. The film starts with the girls assembled in rows with bowed heads as if they are listening to a prayer. Two Legatees mark a roll book as the girls file past them in the gym. They are wearing gym slips with a Junior Legacy Club logo patched onto the chest. They rehearse both dancing and singing. This work forms part of the collection assembled by the historian Dorothy Rogers, that was donated to the Kew Historical Society by her son John Rogers in 2015. The manuscripts, photographs, maps, and documents were sourced by her from both family and local collections or produced as references for her print publications. Many were directly used by Rogers in writing ‘Lovely Old Homes of Kew’ (1961) and 'A History of Kew' (1973), or the numerous articles on local history that she produced for suburban newspapers. Most of the photographs in the collection include detailed annotations in her hand. The Rogers Collection provides a comprehensive insight into the working habits of a historian in the 1960s and 1970s. Together it forms the largest privately-donated collection within the archives of the Kew Historical Society.A sixteen page booklet produced by the Imperial War Graves Commission in 1919. The text for the booklet was written by Rudyard Kipling. The illustrated booklet includes illustrations of cemeteries with mature trees and shrubs; contrasting the bleak landscapes depicted in published battlefield photos. Matchbook is a give-away / souvenir for Golden Fleece Petrol and Service Stations. The Golden Fleece Petroleum Company was established by H.C. Sleigh in 1913 importing petroleum from California, and was acquired by Caltex in 1981. The Golden Fleece ram trademark was created in 1951 when Golden Fleece petroleum became a single-brand service. The Golden Fleece ram was based on an actual prize winning merino ram named 'David of Dalkeith' from Boonoke Stud, run by the Falkiner family. Single brand service stations did not appear until the 1950s, and distinctive trademarks and logos were used to differentiate and promote the brands. Golden Fleece is also known to have produced other giveaways / souvenirs (such as games, swap cards, calendars, badges, roadmaps etc) to advertise its brand.Matchbook, containing twenty white-tipped, wooden matches. The item is a representative example of previously standard issue uniform and is in excellent condition. As a set alongside 0040.2, the uniform has aesthetic significance in its design, incorporating the Disruptive Pattern style of camouflage which has its roots in the 1980s and continues to be adapted into uniform design by the Defence Force.Field shirt in disruptive pattern colours of green, khaki and browns. Long sleeve with five buttons up the front, two chest pockets with button-down flap pockets. Both sleeves are reinforced from the elbow down to the cuff; cuffs are fastened with a single plastic button. Above the right chest pocket is a patch with embroidered inscription in black thread on disruptive pattern backing. Shirt also features plain epaulette's on both shoulders, fastened by plastic button.
