Organ purchased in 1886 by Presbyterian Church, Girgarre East (Springvale) and used continually there until 1975. Bought then by W&D Ballantyne (Harston). They gave it to this museum in 2009 on permanent loan. Used during WW2 when internee was married in the church. Graeme and Elizabeth Savage's house was burnt in the 2009 Black Saturday fires, when Graeme was killed. Elizabeth featured in a documentary "Rising from the Ashes" made about survivors. These letters were transcribed by John L Torpey in 2010, and a copy of the transcript given to the Society. Pte. E.E. Bottomley was later a member of the Kew RSL Sub-Branch. He lived at various times in Coley House, 177 Cotham Road (Kew) and 6 Holroyd Street (Kew). Peter Ryan donated the original letters to Kew RSL in 2009.
